I feel more positive about the institute. It is good and it has excellent library online access to journals. Some of the negative remarks would be LAN/WiFi connection is not available in hostels. Recent suicides have increased. Institute should think about the mental health of students.

It is really good. First we have to register for the courses in the online portal. Then it should be approved the supervisor, Teaching Faculty and atlast the Department curriculum Chairman. Each faculty have their own way of grading. It is in the scale of 10 CGPA.

Institute has a seperate placement department for Placements and internships. It offers placement guidance to PhD scholars at their 5th year or if they have submitted their Thesis defence. Master's students get excellent packages from well known MNC's.

Some of the events include: Pravega- It is cultural and techno fest, Sangam- It is a freshers welcome event, Open Day- It is the time when people outside from IISc are given an opportunity to know about the research and work going on at IISc.

It is feasible, PhD scholars get a stipend of Rs.31000. Master's Student get a Stipend of Rs.12400. The stipend is enough to pay the incurring fees including the hostel and mess expenditure. Hostel and Mess fees is around Rs.6000/month.

Institute has a Gymkhana having wide range of facilities and clubs. Which include Badminton, Snooker, Carrom, Basketball, Volleyball, Football, Hockey, Archery, Aerobics, Gym, Flying Disk (Frisbee), Cricket, Swimming. Overall it is good and indoor operates from 6am to 10pm.

Each student gets a seperate room. In extraordinary cases they get a sharing room. New hostels like NBH(New Boys Hostel) and NGH (New Girls Hostel) have excellent infrastructure. Only problem is hostels doesn't have LAN connection. WiFi is also restricted to common spaces in hostel like TV Room and Entrance.

Institute has a seperate alumni cell but many departments have their own network of alumni. Many are invited for talks and thereby increasing interactions and networking with the current students. Senior students are really helpful in paving the path for the juniors and to be precise they serve as a light house.

Online Application (Aug Batch), Notification comes somewhere around February. Shortlisted applicants will be called for interview in the respective department. Interview, Based on the number of applicants or the department written test may be held. After the written test interview may go on for 45 min to 1 hr. (Interview will be based on Basics and Subject Choices).

It was an incredible experience. They go on to the depth especially CPDM. They don't assume that you have learnt the stuff previously. The teaching narration goes on like a story and you don't get bored even if the class goes on for continuous 2 hours.
