If you want a quality education in affordable cost , NEHU is one of the best University. Moreover the weather here is so good that you will never feel tired to study. The University has a big library where almost all kinds of books available. Overall remark is positive
Course Curriculum Overview
For phd in IT, in initial stage(mostly in the 1st semester of admission) having course work in which some regular theory papers are there and for each paper need to appear for an internal as well as the external exam. It is necessary to get atleast B Grade in course work to qualify for the PhD registration. After the course work students needs to submit their project proposal and board of school will evaluate it. If the proposal is acceptable they allows the students to do the research. For getting the PhD award a student must do research a minimum period of 3 years.
Placement Experience
No my college doesn't provide any internship program. The placement in my college is not so good. Some of the companies visit sometimes but that's not sufficient to place maximum students. Some big companies like Amazon India also visit my college.
College Events
We had Anakalykpsi (the technical workshop) for B.tech and M.tech students. We had international conference (International conference on communication and computing). We had several workshops on IoT. We had workshops on machine learning. Etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
It's very feasible. For phd the yearly fee is Rupees 8000(approx). For m.tech the fees is Rupees 7000 per semester (approx). For b.tech the fees is Rupees 20000 per semester (approx). For all other courses in the university, the fees is feasible
Fees and Financial Aid
The University is offering NON NET fellowship for each students getting admission in PhD or MPhil courses. Other than that students from below poverty line get scholarship under students aid fund. The student's aid fund provides scholarship for both UG and PG courses.
Campus Life
NEHU has a very good infrastructure for extra-curricular activities. We have a big indoor stadium and an outdoor stadium. We had a separate volleyball ground and a basket ball ground. There are several grounds for cricket and football game.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes, during several occasions we get a chance to meet our seniors. Seniors are working in different companies. Some of them are very helpful to suggest about future career. Some of the seniors are doing higher education in IITs or IIMs etc.
Admission
I have completed my graduation and post graduation from the same University (North Eastern Hill University).After that I have appeared for the written test and the personal interview for getting admission into PhD program
Faculty
The faculties are very friendly. They are good in classes also. They think the problems of students practically. For project related queries students can contact them at any time by mail or by calling them.
