While thinking we can say that college is in Positive conditions. But when facing real things only we can understand about that. Because infaced more issues while studing in the College time

Course Curriculum Overview

This course really a very tough struggle to study. Very hard. And the exam structure if u study hard itself u will got fail. Can't even calculate how they correct the papers. Because they are autonomous. We can't predict the staffs paper correction

Placement Experience

Placements are good enough. Yes our college provide internship at year final year first semester. I attended internship in cancer Institute but i didn't get any stipend for that. I just gone their to earn knowledge

College Events

Ovations Department festival Sport annual meet Departmental meetings Motivational speech One day retreat Outreach program Flood relief program Etc. Actually the ovation in our college is known as the grand event and also it the very huge grand program considered in all over other college TN

Fee Structure And Facilities

Feasible for shift 1 and expensive for shift 2 but the management provides all probably ways of paying fees for weaker students by providing. Students as well as fees exemption. And scholarships

Fees and Financial Aid

50 percentage of students are getting scholarship by our management. And also college arranges some kind loan for the students studing in the Institute to welfare them. I didn't availed that so I don't know very deep

Campus Life

Actually my college provides no 1 extra curricular activities for students which are help full for the life. And also every building and floors have an separate laboratory for thier educational needs. And when it's sport for every game their is an separate ground for that. In an good condition

Alumni/Alumna

Actually I am not in an alumni group. But when comparing to other college. Our seniors are very help full and caring to the college junior. This has been followed like an life cycle.

Admission

Actually I applied for an course b. Com but unfortunately for my mark. I am eligible to get b. Com So stuckked in bsc. Statistic. Totally my life changed to another line because of this course

Not greater than good and also not lesser than good. Because some faculty we take an good effort on u and some faculty will be just coming to get their monthly salaries regularly

Life in HIMT

Likes

With regards to training and placements the college is very good . All training as per DGMA and IMU is strictly followed and the placements for B.Sc is 90% and above . The faculties and instructors in the college are well experienced and skilled.
The college is strict regarding alcohol and smoking and it is not allowed inside campus and regular alcohol checks are conducted . Discipline and safety is the first priority for the college.
Classrooms are air conditioned. Hostel rooms are good . Any defects in rooms or any places inside college which are addressed are rectified.

Dislikes

College doesn't conduct inter college events . Internal events are very less . The few events conducted in college has also many restrictions.
Galley food can be better . College canteen is not good

Placement Experience:

The placements for B.Sc Nautical science in HIMT is 90% and above . The placement drive usually starts in the 2nd year (4th semester) and for girls 1st year (2nd semester). The companies which usually come for placements in my college are MOLMI,MOLTA, ZODIAC,SANMAR,GENCO, ONESEA etc ... The package for cadets differ from company to company and type of vessel.

HIMT COLLEGE REVIEW

Likes

The faculties are very well experienced and there are captains who stay in the campus itself, so if there’s something we need they will be available all the time
The facilitieslike labs, ship in campus, DB tank facilities etc are top notch
The classrooms are fully air conditioned. There’s smart board. Overall everything is really good and also neat and clean

Dislikes

Galley food can improve a little and canteen is comparatively small for such a big campus
They are not conducting intra- college events and inter-college events is very less

Placement Experience:

Placements are really good in HIMT. I got placed in 1st year itself in MOLMI. All faculties try their best to prepare us for the placements and it shows in the placement interview also. Usually companies come for placements from 2nd year but there are some companies who want to take girl cadets 1st year itself. MOLMI, MOLTA etc came to our college for placements. After completion of the course, company will call for induction and accordingly they will call for joining the ship. For finishing the cadet ship , we have finish 12 months of sea time. After that a lot courses has to be done for appearing in 2 nd mates exam.

LIFE IN HIMT COLLEGE

Likes

System and the Rules followed in this college
Hierarchy system such as committe heads, cadet captains etc
Infrastructure mainly the football and cricket turf

Dislikes

Punishments, because you will get punished when one of your batchmate did anything wrong
Compared to other colleges himt is not celebrating that much for festivals
Regular musters, You will have to attend minimum 3 muster a day

Placement Experience:

I am placed in MOLMI. And sincerely thank HIMT for the placement. The other companies who Recruits cadets from HIMT are Zodiac, MOLTA, Sanmar, Genco, Ozler ONE shipping etc . HIMT have good placement records of 100%, if you have no arrears then for sure will get placed

THE IDEAL COLLEGE LIFE!

Likes

The opportunities to meet new people and interact with a whole new circle of people by Club Activities as there are quite a lot of clubs according to the student's interest.
Many places to showcase our singing and dancing talent once we join the club or take part in any of the department events.
They have multiple labs for a single department so that the students get a lot of hands on training for coding and as well as hardware.

Dislikes

4:3 Ratio of Girls to Boys in my class and i hope it's the same for all the departments as well.
The college timing can go from 8:30 AM to 5:10PM.
The 75% attendance is kind of doable and maintainable to an extent.

Placement Experience:

about 70 to 80 percent of the students get placed afdter the colleg and the ones not placed also gets placed after the college with high network and communication from other contacts within the college, ZOHO Corp does take placements and i am preparing for my CAT exams as i am planning for My highers at IIM, 5th semester is when the students become eligible for the campus placements and the seniors are a good connection who help to get places and get a job after the completion of degree.

Nothing much but have got some friends you fall into this pit exactl like me

Dislikes

Hostel , mess food and mess hall , no facilities for marine practical

Teaching methods of marine faculties are excellent but in my course they add some additional subject like tamil and hindi which are useless and no neede for a mariner as the marine faculties are good in teaching and explaining but they also having difficulty in teaching as the requirements didn't meet from the college management
