Course Curriculum Overview

4

I have been interested in Computer Science for quite a long so it was no doubt to me that I would definitely choose this course. The curriculum has huge focus on real world applications of whatever is taught. Even in exams their stress on application of problems in real world is quite noticeable. The frequency of exams are usually evenly spaced out throughout the semester though at times they might become a little cramped at the end of the semester. The difficulty level is moderate to hard but not such that it is not possible to ace it.

Placement Experience

4

The placements come in effect from the 3rd year. The placements offered vary upon the CGPA and are extremely influenced by it. All types of offers like Super Dream, Dream and other offers are made to the students based upon their overall merit. A majority of the students get placed by 4th year.

Fees and Financial Aid

475000 is the fees per year for students in B.Tech CSE CORE. This is inclusive of all other fees like lab fees etc. This is the fees paid by people who got in SRM via SRMJEE exam without any scholarship. Accordingly to your performance you can get a 50% or 25% scholarship on this fees. Apart from this you also have to pay the exam fees and some other minor fees throughout your course completion

Campus Life

4

Their are several events held throughout the year in which one can participate and increase their skill or just enjoy. Two major cultural festival include Aarush and Milan. Apart from them the clubs in SRM keep hosting their own technical and creative events throughout the year in every major area. SRM's library is one of the best because it is extremely organized and vast in its material. It is easily accessible on day to day basis and quality books are available on each topic and area of study. People interested in sports and extracurricular activities also enjoy as every month there would always be some kind or other events for them to participate.

Hostel Facilities

3

The hostels are good. There are options for Non AC and AC rooms and also for Common and Attached washrooms. There 2,3 and 4 sharing rooms. The mess food is clean but it taste could improve much. We register for the hostel on SRM's own website. In areas of affordability I would say they are okayish

Admission

My JEE and other exams didn't go well. Out of all the options that I had remaining, SRM was offering me the best possibility that if I worked hard enough, I can land a job worth the effort and money. People are accepted into SRM via the SRMJEE exam based on their results i.e. their ranks. Courses are restricted to certain ranks i.e. beyond a certain rank you wont be able to choose that particular course. The exams are not too difficult. After the exam if you get selected you have to register for your preferred course and your preferred campus. If accepted you would then begin with the registration process as directed by SRM guidelines

Faculty

3

The faculty to the student ratio is good. Classes are evenly divided in such ways that they cause not too much stress on the students while ensuring that the academics aren't affected. The faculties are good and mostly approachable. In particular I didn't find an unlikable faculty. There are 4 internal exams before the semester end exams. They are usually easy with exception being one of them might be hard. Most students easily clear the exams. The course curriculum is quite relevant

Night Life

3

SRM provides us with a gym equipped with all necessary facilities. If one wants to go to gym outside of campus they can do that too as several of them are available in close vicinity of the campus. The public areas are good in SRM. The main hotspot for food is Java where all the food stores are located. Here you can find all kinds of food for a good meal. Hostel in timings are usually 9 pm and exceptions are there if one was in library etc.

From their 5 th semester students become eligible for campus placements untill that the faculties will give them training every 2 hrs per week including quantitative and soft skills. They connected more than 100 companies like wipro, Infosys, etc. Tje highest package would be 3LPA and lowest would be 1LPA. More than 60 %of students get placed in diff companies. And my plan after getting the degree is entrepreneurship.

Students can opt for any one track during their third year of study. The campus placements starts from the mid of third year. Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placement from 5 th semester ,however they are not allowed to join companies before completing the current course. Many companies have visited like(CTS, Accenture, Soti, cart rabbit , course 5i and many more) in my batch out of 800+ students around 200 - 250 got placed . The highest pacakge is 13.5 LPA and the average package is around 4.5 LPA - 6LPA. College say its 100 percent placement but nowadays its not true because about 20-25 percent students are bot placed because of skill issues. My plan is to get placed in a good company and save some decent amount and start trading.
