Likes
- Campus life is pretty good. Campus consists of green lushed environment.There are various facilities available for students such as football grounds, gym, basketball court etc.
- faculties are also decent. Some faculties are very helpfull and friendly.
- Infrastructure is also good and college is surrounded in a 40 acre green lushed campus.
Dislikes
- some faculties should be removed as they are incompetent.
- more technical fest should be organised in order to make crowd more experienced in coding.
Course Curriculum Overview
course curriculum is not really relevant nowadays in most of the college which includes mine as well. Some subjects really give insights and and have real world applications while some are outdated.The areas of improvements include introduction of modern industry level subjects which has some real world applications.
Placement Experience
From 6th semester students are eligible to sit foe placements.Many companies visited our campus such as wipro,capgemini,jsw steel,pwc us,tech mahindra etc.The highest package offered is 12 lpa and the average was around 5 lpa.Around 85 percent students got placed. My plans after getting the degree is to sit for placements and get a goos package.
Fees and Financial Aid
The year wise fees is 140000 which consists of tuition fees 60500,development fee 8250,caution money for hostel was 5000 and lab fees was 5000.The fees of my batchmates of different categories is same.There are various scholarships and loans are available such as WBSCC and BSCC
Campus Life
The names of annual and technical festivals are Prayukti and Riviera and they are generally held from february to april. There are a variety of books available in our library from technical books to novels and exam preparation books such as for gate,iit jam etc. Classrooms are equipped with smart boards and ACs. Sports and other activities are organized all over the year.
Hostel Facilities
hostel facilities are quite decent.There are total 5 hostels available for 1st year students P1,P2,P3,P4,P5 in which P4 is girls hostel and from 2nd year and onwards only girls hostels are available.Boys have to go for rented apartments.Mess food is not so good everyday but it includes varieties.I live in the locality named kshudiram nagar which is just 10min. walking distance from college.
Admission
I applied for various colleges in bihar and up which includes MIT muzaffarpur,nit narula,techno main salt lake and msit but I chose hit haldia over these because I love the campus over here and the placements here are quite decent.The admission process of this college is mainly through WBJEE and JEE score cards while approx 10 percent seats are for direct admission students.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is around 1:40. The relationship between faculty and students are pretty good.The hods of the departments support students and they try to give their best.The best faculties of my department are anupam mukherjee,biplab sinha,razia sultana mam and ashok mondal sir.Some faculties I don't like are Chetan singh and sumit maity because of their old technique of teaching.There are generally 2 internal and 1 end semester exam in which you can pass easily if you follw teachers notes religiously.
Night Life
The nightlife is pretty decent. There are various hangout spots for students such as garden restaurent,college cafeteria etc. The gymnasium is also open for all students and they can also play football in P2 ground and can play table tennis in anandam tt court.
