Remarks

It's a new college and so the infrastructure is being developed only. The facilities are excellent. Though being a private medical college all the facilities are retired doctors from government medical colleges.

The course is extremely interesting. The university to which the college is affiliated is Kerala University of Health Sciences. The university conducts yearly examinations. There are four yearly exams.

The college union council conducts arts fest, onam celebrations, Christmas celebrations, new year celebrations, pre-convocation event, graduation ceremony and annual day celebration every year. There will be a sports meet also.

The fee structure for tuition varies batch wise while the hostel and mess fees is around one lakh rupees annually. There is an additional other fees of around fifty thousand rupees. The fees have to be paid before August every year.

We are extremely excellent in sports. We have been the university sports meet winners for the past two years. We excel im football, cricket, table tennis, chess, athletics, etc. The laboratories are full modernized

Hostel Facilities

4

I opted hostel for two years. The rate is a bit high. The infrastructure is developing only. There is elevator, Indoor games, recreation room and gym at the hostel. The food is excellent and is of buffet type.

Alumni/Alumna

They are very helpful and there is still a strong relationship between the Juniors and the seniors of the college. This makes them to work in our hospital even after they have passed out from the college.

Admission

Through Kerala Engineering and Medical Entrance conducted in April 2015. We have to qualify the entrance exam by scoring at least fifty percentage. We have to either qualify to the merit list or get into the management quota list.

Faculty

5

The facilities are excellent. They are retired doctors from government medical colleges. The teachers help us very much and they are really devoted to their profession. They teach us in the clinical method that is most wanted in this profession.

Even though a bit tight and rushy, this is in fact the best curriculum provided and followed by all medical colleges in kerala. The frequency of exam is high and difficulty level is as same as that of KUHS. This provides relevant experience for the students to weite the university exams

The course is a bit tough rather than other courses (professional courses) MBBS is a 4 year course with 1 year compulsory internship dealing with a total of 13-4 subject over the 4 years The curriculum prepares us for the real world experiecne but more often the clinical subjects aim in patuent student interaction that overall help in the achievemnt of professionalism The frequency if exams are very high as there needs to be regular revision of subjects in order to prepare for the finals and perfect in all clinical theory and oractical aspects

Kerala University of Health Sciences - [KUHS], Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)
Reviewed on Nov 30, 2024(Enrolled 2021)

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is of high relevance as it ensures that the student learns everything he need to learn in an mbbs life to become a good doctor. The curriculum we are now following is decided by the National Medical Council (NMC) of India and is CBME curriculum. The curriculum include many Self directed learning methods and small group discussions etc which makes the learning interesting and easy. The curriculum definitely prepares the students to become a good doctor in future. Some minute improvements are still required like no need of these many SGDs for community medicine and forensic. It'll be better to include more field activities in community medicine . The frequency and timing of exams are sometimes a burden for the students as the exams are so close and they are not getting enough time to improve themselves which may affect their confidence. Sometimes the exams are scheduled in between some meets conducted by university which makes it difficult for the students to participate.
