Remarks

College management is cooperative. Best part is strong bonding of senior junior relationship.

Entrance Preview

IIT JEE Score : 180/580 Due to little poor rank I could not make into Other IITs with Good course. But later on realised that I had landed at right place.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course curriculum is as per the foreign university standards. It is also on the line of other IITs syllabus.

Internships Opportunities

Yes students have good opportunity for internship. I attended internship at IISc, Bangalore. General stipend is around Rs. 10000. Student have opportunity for foreign internship as well.

Placement Experience

Placement is also Good. When I passed out in 2010, from my electrical Engineering Branch 42/48 placed with an average package of 5.5 Lakh CTC per annum. Good companies such as google, microsoft etc. including PSUs visited campus.

College Events

SRIJAN- Techno cum management cum cultural Fest which attracts participants from various IITs and also from some good universities such as Delhi University etc. Other departmental events are also organised apart from a big event of Sports meet.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is similar to that of other IITs. In 2010 For general student it was 34, 000 per year. Also there was provision of scholarship for Top 25% students.

Fees and Financial Aid

There was provision of scholarship for Top 25% needy students i.e. Tuition fee amount. Also you can avail loan from SBI at 0% interest Rate.

Campus Life

Campus life is just excellent. One gets lots of opportunities for showing his/her talent in various field such as dancing singing robotics etc. Gender Ratio is poor like other IITs. Politics is high in college for various posts on the basis of place you belong.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facilities are almost free of cost and are included in fee for year. The amount is quite less around 700 per year. Mess food is managed by students. Here you will be disappointed due to poor management. Mess charges were Rs. 1200 per month in 2010.

External Expense: Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna

Very good senor junior relationship. Alumni bonding is good. Good network of alumni not only in India but also in Abroad. Very cooperative and helping seniors available almost in every field to help.

Exam Structure

For a month or so a student might feel little hectic in a semester. But otherwise campus life is chilled out. Only a month is busy is a period of 6 months of a semester.

Faculty

Faculties are excellent, stricter attendance in classroom make students learn.

Placement Experience:

Mechanical branch in terms of number of students placed is quite high but if it is about how many students get elite packages it's less. The average for our branch at our college is 8-9 lakhs but top companies which are into our core space for long are our college partners.

BIT Mesra is humongous!!

Placement Experience:

My plans after degree is to pursue masters or right away get on with my family business as we are already into trading chemicals. However, from the number of students from our stream that apply for jobs through campus, over 80% are placed from campus. Labs to industries that deals in manufacturing of chemicals and exporting the same are the ones where students of our college get the opportunity.

BIT Mesra is Magical!!

Placement Experience:

Highest package from our campus is eye catching as it's 56 lakhs and for chemical branch it was 34 lakhs. HUL, Sun Pharma, public limited labs and various R&D research centres are those that have helped us to get best available jobs in market as the competition is high but BIT Mesra has still managed to place over 80% students last year.

BITS Mesra is Magnificent!!

Placement Experience:

From second semester we are taken for an hour session for special training. It is optional till 4th semester but from 5th semester onwards, it becomes mandatory and we have no choice but to go through that hammer. Finally, from the last year's 1st semester companies starts coming and we can apply for the same and that is how placements are done here.

Placement Experience:

the placement rate depends on branch.some branches like cse,ese will have a high placement rate and for small branches like mechanical and chemical will have less placements .the highest package is around 60lpa.

Read this before joining BIT Sindri.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities is decent for students. The placement of BIT sindri varies from branch to branch but the core brances like Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering has evergreen placements. Among the eligible students around 90 percent students get placed. But in branches like civil and production engineering, its not the same. They have very low placement rate around 20 to 30% of eligible students get placement. For CSE, IT & ECE the placement is highly dependent on the situation of market and it varies early. The students are eligible from 6 the semester onwards for placement . The placement drive starts from August or September and companies visit till students graduate. The top recruiters are TCS with more than 80 students from overall campus , TATA power nearly 20 , LNT, JSW , Vedanta , TATA STEEL, JSL, ADANI, ABG , Shyam steel and For it sector companies like samsung , cognisant, hitachi, TCs, Spyder visited for 2k21 batch. For the batch 2020-2024 among batch size of 710 around 620 offers were made. The highest package is given by samsung which is around 28 LPA , students of CSE, IT, ECE and Electrical are eligible. For IT sector average package is around 6 lakhs. For core sectors companies heightest package is offered by vedanta to Electrical, Mechanical, Mining which is around 14 lakhs average package is around 7 LPA.. Around 75- 80 percent students get placed during campus placement drive. The Wish to crack GATE and join PSU after my graduation.

The underrated government college

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is slightly outdated due but still it isnrelevant due to research oriented branch. The areas they can improve is by adding practical subjects more than theoretical one. Exams are conducted twice every semester with easy to moderately moderate difficulty level.

All You need to know about IIT(ISM) Dhanbad

As this is an IIT, To get admission here Firstly You have to take the JEE mains exam. At our time there used to be 4 rounds of the JEE Mains exam and Your maximum percentile among all 4 would be considered for a cutoff It was around 90% and to be eligible for give JEE advance Exam. The JEE advance exam happened in July, and its results were also released in August. After Qualifying JEE Advanced exam too you have to go through JOSSA counselling. In JOSSA counselling you have to give your list of colleges priority wise and you will be allotted college based on your AIR. After JOSSA counseling of 6 rounds, you will be allotted a college and then you will receive an offer letter from a college. For me, at IIT Dhanbad after taking admission firstly we were introduced to college through an orientation session with our respected director. After this we were called to campus for pre-registration for our course there we had to submit our documents and verify our identity. That's it !!...Read More
