Remarks

A big campus with a power packed sea of opportunities. Students can get a best college life here and can pursue any dream he/she want. Just a single problem is that Rourkela is not that a big city. Placements are good and are comparable with middle level IITs. You can easily achieve marks while having a life here.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course structure at our time was vast but it is very easy from last 2 years. You will get 3 days off in a week so that you can give some time in extra curricular activities. Exams are conducted twice per semester mid sem and end sem. No internals are here. 20% of your marks will be in the hands of teacher as T.A. marks. Semester is of 4 months so you will get 3 months Summer holiday and 1 month in winter.

Placement Experience

4

There is a TnP cell working for providing the best placements to the students. Training is also provided for GDs and tests. Almost everyone can get a good offer here You just need to maintain an average GPA. Internship opportunities are also provided by the same but only 30-40% can be benefited by the same. I got an on campus internship offer and did pretty well there. For internship opportunities, faculty are also helpful.

College Events

4.5

List of events :- 1. Cosmopoliton :- a cultural fest where culture programmes of different zones are organised. 2. Innovision :- Technical fest with a lot of fun. 3. Spardha :- A sports fest 4. Nitrutsav :- A cultural fest 5. Celebrity Night :- You can get the idea with the name. Apart from it many clubs and Department have their own mini fests and activities which they organise the whole year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

A B.tech degree can cost you around 7 lakh but if your income fall in between 1-5 lakh, you only have to pay 1/3rd of your tution fee and for less than 1 lakh group tution fee is zero. Just a hostel and mess fee of around 30k per semester.

Fees and Financial Aid

If your income fall in between 1-5 lakh, you only have to pay 1/3rd of your tution fee and for less than 1 lakh group tution fee is zero. Just a hostel and mess fee of around 30k per semester. Apart from it there are some scholarship for poor students and minority students which they can easily avail. Students can get loan easily at the time of admission.

Campus Life

4.5

There are more than 50 clubs which work under SAC. Clubs related to almost every interest are running smoothly here. They are funded and participate in many national and international level competitions. Apart from that we have a team for every major sports. We have a Olympic level sized swimming pool. Grounds for hockey, football and cricket and each hostel have facilities of almost all the major indoor sports. Inter and intra hall events are also conducted. Labs are well equipped with almost all of the required instruments.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel are good. Ist year students are kept in different hostels from senior students. Total of 11 hostels are there. 7 for boys (2 for freshers) 2 for girls and 2 for married scholars. After 2nd year you will get a single accommodation room. LAN ports are provided in each room for fast internet.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are very helpful and you can easily discuss your problems with them. An alumni Network 'NITRAA' is well maintained and is very useful for guidance and placements. It is run by a seperate body and function in a best way. Apart from them a student counselling program also runs for freshers to help them tackle any problem.

Admission

I appeared for jee mains and secured a rank of 32443. Then I applied for josaa counselling and got this seat in last round. In today's date a rank of around 45k will get you a seat in this course. For other courses cutoff you can visit josaa.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is now updated since it became a University, so its more relevant to industry now but still we have to do extra courses for coding. Exams happen every few months—2 internals and one end-sem. They are not very easy, you actually need to study to pass without backlogs
