Student Life in HBTU(mother institute of IIT KANPUR)

I think the course we require in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness is very poor as in computer science also they don't teach us the market required terms and language they are teaching us very old age education only. I wanted to Basu b.tech from computer science in engineering in very well known Government College so that I can get very good placement in very big MNC. According to me they should include market related terms and project in the curriculum and also teach the students on the real time applications also. The exams there are held on every month so the frequency is relatively high and the semester gets and in around 4 months only.

The placement for this college is average the student is get to placed for around 6 lakh per annum in the highest package goes for around 3600000 per annum the highest placed branches chemical engineering Students get eligible for placement from around 5th semester of the course. Companies like Wipro TCS gallant extra profit jobs to the students. Placement percentage goes around 70% however in lower branches such as food technology paint technology etc placement can go up to 100% also. My plans are to go for off campus placements in MNC such as Google Microsoft etc

The annual fees of hbtu Kanpur is 135000/annum (tution fees including all other types of fees such as caution fees,insurance etc) and the hostel fee cost for 63000 per year for all categories of a student such as SC ST general OBC & there is no concession in fees based on category,the fee is relatively high as compared to other government college However there are some scholarship available for the student with poor economic condition that can be availed such as UP scholarship giving 50000 to general/obc and 90000 to SC/ST approx and a student can also apply through a national scholarship portal and other private scholarship which they are eligible for.

There are no fest in colleges from 2 years as in previous year there are some class between student and professor on scholarship topic that's why fest had been cancelled, and for this year the first not being organised and we don't know when the first will be organised. However according to our seniors are being organised at the end of January with 1-2 celebs such as samay Raina. There are many clubs including aero club ,octave, autorob etc but they are not valuable active and doesn't provide very good number of participants from the first year

The hostel faculty is very good they are very friendly also. The room facilities are very basic,the window glasses are broken,door locks are not there, sometimes no water is there in the washroom also. Mess quality is also average that is they provide good food someday such as Monday and Sunday and rest of the day they make aloo ki sabji only so it becomes very hacked for the student to eat aloo for the rest of the week. The registration process for hostel begins at the office submission of the college and in online mode only. Hostels are affordable as related to PG and nearby rooms.

Hbtu Kanpur is your well known for his 100 + years of legacy, it is well known college in Uttar Pradesh and as compared to other state government college it is one of the best colleges in India. Also the aluminium network of this college is very big and very fast as many startups and ceo of very big companies are from hbtu Kanpur only. However this college is less preferable over nit as they get good fund provide good facilities and have good and sharp brains around in the college. The admission process of this colleges online only and based on the cut off of JEE mains marks only there is no shortcut to get admission in the college the eligibility of for this college is 60% marks in boards and cut off for computer science is 30000 for general

The faculty of the colleges very highly experience then very good in nature however some guest faculty are very arrogant to the students and also very less experienced as compared to the permanent faculty. the teaching skill are average. There is one professor to every 85 students so the ratio is quite poor. I personally like the leather technology professor respected dr.pramendra sar for their very good teaching skills and very friendly nature to the students. And the guest faculty of civil engineering in our branch respected Mr Harshit Verma sir I found him quite arrogant to the students and also his marking scheme was very hard for the students. There are two minutes I'm exams and one and some exam in each semester and quiz for internal marking the exams are relatively easier as important topics are given by some faculties the syllabus that failed approx

The night life of the colleges very poor as they are not very good places around the college to hangout with friends and also the lighting inside the college is not that much good to walk on the roads also send the cleanliness of the college is not also very good. Also the road surround the hostel are very grassy and many snakes that are very big are also seen at nearby the hostel so it is very risky also to walk at night. And also there is very vast number of students that are being held in the possession of smoking alcohol and other bad habits that stand near by the college and drink and smoke near the college.
