Course Curriculum Overview
three internals per sem is quite hectic as they are kept 1 per month. there's also an extra optional exam for students who havent done well in the first two. cybersecurity is an up and coming field. very important
Fees and Financial Aid
2.8 lakh per year for the next four years for comedk students. around one lakh per year for kcet students. the management fees is much higher. i am unaware of the management fees but it is around six lakh per annum for this course.
Campus Life
the college supports only technical interests. any other literary or art types are not considered as important. no fest has been conducted. 2 sems have passed and no fest has been conducted. the college supports the already existing clubs.
Hostel Facilities
the hostel provides 4-sharing rooms for 1st years. the rooms are quite small for 4 people. washing machines were introduced this year but there is some problem with it already and not allowed to use. the wifi is very bad. the food is okay for south indians. spicy sometimes. there is only vegetarian food available
Admission
as far as i have seen, RNSIT is way better academically when compared to other colleges. our lab facilities work very well, and our labs are never cancelled, unlike other colleges i have seen. this college also supports any technical projects by the students. the admission process is like any other college. RNSIT CSE-CY was on top of my choice list due to my interest in the field. and i got it in the 2nd round of counselling of comedk
Faculty
there is a very large number of faculty. each faculty member is different from the rest. some are very lenient, while some are very strict. really depends on the faculty. we have 3 internals and one endsem. the internals are conducted for 50 marks each. average of all three internals are taken and reduced to 20% of the total (for lab subjects) assignments carry 10% of the total, labs carry 20% of the total. 2 lab internals are conducted. the end sems are conducted for 50% of the total. the other 50% is the tests and work we do throughout the sem. the exams are not too difficult, nor too easy. as long as you listen in class and study the material properly, there's nothing to worry about
Night Life
campus in-time is 8pm. hostelites have to carry a sepcial hostel ID that has to be shown at the entrance to be let in. hostel in-time for girls is 8:30. there is a lot of security on campus and they have very strict rules about timings and discipline
