Course Curriculum Overview

3

Course curriculum is only relevant to placements and not the real world and job environment. Almost half of the subjects aren't even related to the degree we're persuing yet still we have to devote hours for it which leaves us with less time to prepare our CV.

Placement Experience

4

Placements are above average and are on par with the other private colleges. The median placement is around 7-9 LPA and the average placement is around 14 LPA. The highest package ever was a little above 1 CRPA about two three years ago from EEE department. The placement of EEE and ECE is a little bit above CS.

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly fees is 4 lakhs. There are scholarships but only for top 100 rankers in the SRMJEE entrance test, and for people with family members in the defense forces. The registration fees for admission are 10000. The fees don't increase for a batch but every year there are some changes in fees for new batches. Fees are different for differnet courses like CSE Core has 450000 fees, some specializations have 350000 per year. There is management quota I think you have to pay extra 2 lakh for it.

Campus Life

5

Campus life is really good from my perspective. I've got really good friends and they help me in academics as well have a quality time. Classrooms are not that good with charging ports and air conditioning being the highest technological provisions. The wifi is pretty poor during the day due to bandwidth distribution as thousands of people use it. There is almost no scope of sports as it is dominated by the local students and crowd in public sports areas. There are several clubs covering almost every aspect of computer science and engineering with good activity.

Hostel Facilities

2

Facilities in hostel are just average with tables, air conditioning (if choosen) and toilets and wifi. Mess food is not good at all. It's just above decent in taste but the same mediocre food for months is very jarring. Hostels are not affordable at all with ac hostels being above 2 lakhs per year. There are plenty of societies for renting a flat as well as PG residences.

Admission

I didn't get any other better colleges due to lack of focus in the JEE preparation and SRM isn't too bad in itself either, the campus, faculties, curriculum etc are not very compatible but are okay in general and by working a little bit hard it is easy to get placed in a good company with a good package.

Faculty

2

Every semester you get 1-2 good faculties that are actually good help for classes and placement related stuff, 1-2 are strict like don't give marks, won't excuse for attendance if needed and would scold at everything. The rest are like NPCs that just come to class, read from a presentation they already made and leave.

Night Life

1

Nighlife is not much prevalent here as there aren't many things to do neither near the campus nor Chennai city. Hostels are very strict for girls with in time being 7:30pm and 9 pm for boys. Hangout places are Mahindra World City, and the Chennai city. Locality is really unsafe especially for women due to local people.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I influenced by my friends who joined in this course ,later on I adjusted with it ,the curriculum prepares students in which they are capable to understand in their own way with which they build up projects and expos and many more events conducted by the other collages to participate in it. It is a tough situation to deal with it because the minimal gap between the sessionals is 1.5 month so for students it a stress to cover the syllabus of all subjects and with project works etc.

The artificial intelligence I choose this course it is a growing course and job are high paid jobs. I prepared for real world purpose to get good knowledge on that. The teaching is overall good and the improvement of our course curriculum to decrease the exams .yes I felt very low because the exams are come over 1 on 1 timing is very low and it is difficult so we suggest to reduce the exam timings.
