Course Curriculum Overview

3

About the curriculum I'd say it's mostly the same as any other college offering an Engineering course. The only problem I thought was the course was a bit outdated like there were many things in the course which you'll find that this things may never be used again or things you'll find irrelevant to your course. The current model has changed, where you can exempt subjects where you can show a proper certification or experience which is making it better. The frequency of Exams and CA are mostly well planned with Mid Terms and appx 3CA for each subject. Some papers were difficult mostly the theory papers where most of the students fail. Apart from this I would love to see improvements in Hands-on-experience where we provide the current requirements as per Industry demands.

Internships Opportunities

3

There were dozens of companies offering internships though I'll mention it's hard to get in intital years because of too much competitiion among students but ya there will be many companies of you wanna go for internships. And as you'll advance to your course the number of comanies in whcih you are elligible will keep increasing.

Placement Experience

4

Students are elligible from 5th sem, there were many companies who visited like TCS,infosys and also many other prominent companies like Amazon, microsoft not directly but there were many students who were placed in these companies also a lot of other small tech startups and companies with package ranging from 4LPA-16LPA for most and very few with above 16LPA. Highest package was around 40LPA and I've personally seen my friends getting plcaed at 30LPA so, there are comanies but offering this kinda salary not many. Also for an average student the companies are moslty from Non-Tech or sales. I believe appx 70% of students got placement, who filled out for placements, and many are staying cause of less jobs offered i tech role

Fees and Financial Aid

I pursued BTech CSE from Lovely Professional University, my Semester fee was around 1,20,000 per sem I was offered a 30% scholarship based on my LPUNest Entrance Exam which lead my fee to 84000 per sem. Registration fee was around 1100 for entrance exams. LPU also have an examination fee of around 3000 after every semester, you have to pay this to give your exams. Fee for my batchmates were near about same, base was 120000rs and the scholarship was ranging from. 10-36%. For hostels the fee was around 90K a year in which you get a certain amount of electricity free with it. LPU also offer different scholarships to state toppers, based on JEE ranks and many more other kind of scholarships.

Campus Life

5

The annual event is YouthVibe and also Coke Studio where the prominnent singers come and present for free for students and also there are events almost everyday in college across different departments so if you are looking for events and festivals you'll like it here. The library is huge though it doesn't offer 24x7 timings but is available till 11P.M. on most of the days. The facilities will be as you'll be expecting nothing that'll blow your mind but is enough to make you comfortable. Sporsts facilities are up to mark you can visit sports dept. and they can help you with attendance and many more if you are playing professionally. There are many student run clubs + college's own clubs which will be open for everyone and also will keep you enagegd if you are interested in Events.

Hostel Facilities

3

The room has AC/cooler depends on you. I'd say if you like tasty food don't choose mess it's really a mess though it's maintained nicely but I could never adopt to the taste and timings. Registration for hostels is simple where after every year a portal for choosing Hostel appears that allows you to choose hostel and roommates. I rented a PG near to the college the PG is nice the facilty is quite good the only problem here is too much of Local influence in the student area which can annoy you or can make you feel unsafe.

Admission

While choosing this college I saw many colleges such as Chandigarh University, AMITY, sharda, BITS and many more similar colleges. And I compared all colleges while joining, for most of the cases I rejected the college except BITS what kept me going for LPU was when I reasearched about the college I found it better than it's counter parts. In LPU you get the most of all this with the largest campus and probably 35K+ students and the courses and also notable alumini in sports field which drew my attention. Later I searched for placement related data and it was better than the others I mentioned so I decided to choose LPU. The admission process starts with LPUNest or a JEE ranking (for engg courses) where after test once the results are out you'll be contacted by the college and then they'll explain you the other details.

Faculty

4

There's a 1 to 70 student teacher ratio for most of the Courses, for Minor you can have a class of 30-60 students and for Capstone you get a group of 5 Students with a teacher. Most of the faculty is well qualified and are also good in teaching. Though you can also encounter a few with you may not cope up well but most of them you'll have an easy way. There are many teachers that I personally liked from a jsva teacher Ravikant Sahu to a OS/Php teacher who taught us well and also provied external support.

Night Life

4

There are 3 gyms in college one owned by college the cheapest one then one in the sports complex with a mid range fee and then one in the college mall with the most facilty and fee. There are dozens of food courts each with various different food outlets in each. The hostel timing for boys is quite loose you can enter and leave almost eny time for girls it's till 7:30 mostly but can increase till 11. The most famous hangout place would be Uni Mall and the Robo Park and one more park that I can't name but you'll get to know once you've joined. The only problem was the surrounding isn't that good I mean the college neighbourhood you won't find much to do outside the college.

Over a crore package too have been inked form LPU, CSE and that itself is more than enough to justify my call to Study here. Highest package was of 1.03 crores and average still stands at 8 lakhs around. The big thing is nearly 2500 students in CSE and still all are finding a shot to try for placements.

Mid cap to large cap, every company that can afford our students services are invited to our university for hiring students. Thus far nearly 500 organizations have been invited to our university and a good bit of placements percentage is also there. No students of our university recruited have come under fire and therefore the companies which have laid faith in LPU students have kept hiring year after year.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I went for CSe bcz it has best career scope. The curriculum is comprehensive but a bit heavy. It touches almost all topics but didn't go deep into latest tech like AI or Cloud computing, which was a drawback. Improvements? Definitely the teaching style. Some profs are good but many rush through the syllabus to finish it. They should include more project based learning instead of just theory exams. Exams are manageable. We have typical sem system. Timing is predictable but sometimes the schedule is very tight with no gaps between papers. Difficulty wise its okay, most students study a week before exams and manage to clear them.

Around 600 recruiters so far has hired students from LPU. Not just domestic but even international names have hired students from LPU. So, I don't think one even has to look beyond LPU for that matter. I am happy that students from here have got the opportunity to work in their dream companies and soon I will be giving interviews as I am also in my final year now.

Placement Experience:

Though when I got admission in this college, I saw the placement rates were very nice, around 95%, but maybe it was our session's fault. I passed out in 2024, and in that particular year, the placements were not as expected and as seen in the previous batch, so that was something very much disappointing because I paid so much money on a degree, only everything was good about the college, but in the end, placement matters during my session. Usually, the companies that hired for example, 10 students only hired two students.
