What Students Say
Likes
- The infrastructure of the college is very nice.
- A lot of helpful faculties. with a lot not so helpful too.
- Vast library and a hell lot of online paid resources available for free through knimbus and other portals
Dislikes
- The attendance policy. Depends on department on how much they take it seriously
- The tnp is very strict regarding their session and seminars. One mistake and you get a demerit point and after some demerits you are disqualified
Course Curriculum Overview
Dont expect that college will teach you everything its will teach you what is necessary to pass the exam all other skills and stuff are to be learnt on own. well its not their fault as all these are the boons of AICTE guidelines and to be frank the NEP 2020 isn't helping much
Placement Experience
Students are eligible for placement from the third year itself for ppo and so. There are several companies visiting thakur around the year and there are a lot who get placement off campus too. I have heard a student from comps got into google at 72lpa. you can visit the tnp site for more detail.
Fees and Financial Aid
the fees is nearly 170000 for a year. but you can avail the scholarships provided by the government of maharashtra which will bring it down by almost 50%. If you beling to any category your fees could go as low as 29000 for VJNT i believe. well you can find this on the website
Campus Life
Every club in TCET has a lot of politics. you need favours from your senior to get into Working committee of any club. And people do that only for fun no body is serious except a few. the fest are above par with any college like we dont have any celeb coming over yet the dj night is awesome. There are two fest Zephyr (technical Fest) and Sojourn (cultural fest). And also sporting events like Tspark (intra-Collegiate) and Enertia (inter-Collegiate). And also a hackathon named hackanova
Admission
i got in this college through mht cet and i wanted to go into tcet as it was near to my house and one of the main reason is placement. TCET has a very strong industry connection as well as political too. To get into TCET you have to give the MHT-CET exams and secure almost 95%ile score for tech branches for non linguistic minority. For linguistic minority i.e. hindi you can get into at 93%ile
Faculty
Well there are a lot of knowledgable faculties who know what they are teaching but somewhere they lack is transmitting that knowledge to students. The student to faculty ratio is 20:1. The exams are easy i personally score 9 cgpa+ just studying a day before it. There are the ise i.e. internal semester exams where in they take the average of the best 2 marks. and you have a 60 marks end sem.
Interview Experience
to enter this institution you need to give the mht cet exam or JEE. you can get this college at 90 percentile or if lucky even at 88 you may get in mhtcet. I have no idea about JEE cutoff but I very well know the seats are compartively very less for JEE students
Night Life
I am not a hostel guy yet I know there are a lot of places to eat nearby and also the hostel is at a walkable distant from college. And to be a good guide i will tell you dont eat from canteen prefer food the stalls in college as well as those outside the college. There are a lot of rich guys in the college if you want to do something stay away from them. there are arcade places nearby.
