Remarks

Positive: No attendance policy of Bits is the best thing. It gives a huge relief to students. Also another thing is that as such there is no minimum cut off of the subjects and nothing such as back in a subject . Talking about negative remarks is that schedule in the college if you attend all the classes the schedule is quite tough one.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

Dual degree courses of bits Pilani are in itself of very unique kind . Course is well designed as in 2nd year one studies for his basic dual degree like I would be studying mathematics . And then from 3rd year the single degree that I received I would study that plus a few projects in mathematics. All exams are written .quizzes, long subjective papers, short subjective papers are mostly seen.

Placement Experience

4.5

Nearly 80% guys are placed . Also some are placed in multi national companies.Yes, it provides internship in the course.Along with internship it provides practice school ( like non paid internship) after 2 Nd year . Since I have completed only one year in college I have not yet sat for internship.

College Events

4.5

3 huge fest occur in college named as 1. BOSM: this is a sports fest where teams from many colleges participate . Institute is conducting it successfully since 33 years. This fest is of 3 days. I-BOSM: this is a sports fest between hostels 2.Oasis ( the cultural fest): it is a 5 day fest . Many programs are conducted such as rap wars, comedy thriller and yet far the best fest wherein students mostly don’t sleep .also each some celebrities are invited to add joy to this fest. 3.Apogee: this is a tech- fest and the last fest to be conducted in an academic year . Tech talks and different projects are a part of this fest.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Expensive as first year fees per sem was 1,59,000 and each year it increases by 7.5% . So the total cost per year including the hostel is nearly around 4 lacs . But there is scholarship available to students based on their cgpa. Scholarship comes in two format 80% waiver and 40 % waiver.

Fees and Financial Aid

I don’t know about loan but about scholarship I know. Two major scholarships : Merit scholarship and and MCN( merit cum scholarship) . Merit scholarship is open to all and is in two formats 100% scholarship (approximately 10 cg required) and 40 % ( cut off 9.7 cg) . MCN scholarship is for students with income below 8 lacs p.a. and comes into format 80 % and 40 % fees waiver.

Campus Life

4.5

There are many clubs in campus for different interests. Physics lab is not quite good but rest all the labs are the labs are good. Regarding sports and fitness there is a gym in the college . Also there are cultural assocs in the college as students come from different states.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Yes , I have opted for hostel . Hostels are superb with modern infrastructure. Also hostels are quite spacious as all are one floored. Washroom are huge and in cubical formats and western style . Mess are also just below the hostel and hostels are close to the classrooms.

Alumni/Alumna

Senior students are quite helpful also alumni also interact on a regular basis. Senior students are the key to all our queries .An important element of college is timetable creation and selecting teachers wisely .

Admission

For admission in BITS for B.E one has to appear for bitsat entrance exam. Bits has 4 colleges : Pilani, Goa, Hyderabad, Dubai campus. Bitsat entrance is completely objective . Also a minimum of 80% is required in 12 th standard board exam.

Faculty

4

Faculty is I think quite descent and always willing to help and personally I have not yet found a stubborn faculty here. Also they are willing to take extra class whenever possible . Always try to be on time .

Placement Experience:

Students can sit in campus placements starting from their second last semester. Some phenomenal companies that visited placement last year was BCG , Bain n Co . , Jane Street ,Amazon , Flipkart .Also there are many companies /startups which visit for non tech roles like PM / data (Xpedia) and many more .As for the tech and core roles if you have a CG above 8 you will be sure shot placed . Highest packages go upto 2 crores for quant roles since they are highly paid for .Approximately 81 % of the students get placed , I have personally seen students with a CGPA of even 5 get placed a job of 14 Lakhs per annum .My plans after getting the degree are to work in finance .
