Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course BALLB is vast and wide , as I am first year student I cannot comment on law subjects apart from torts . Torts is taught in lines with modern syllabus , but I feel the course should be revised by CCSU on modern lines . But if I say that course BALLB never prepared you for work as for it you need internships and more on ground work in courts . Mere textbooks cannot teach full aspect of law , but for competitive exams like judiciary , the course is relevant . At the end, I feel there should be some revision in CCSU syllabus .

Fees and Financial Aid

I am currently in first year , and I have been provided 40 percent scholarship on my merit in class 12th . I am paying 114000rs as tuition fees after scholarship for whole year apart from accomodation charges which are usually depended upon type of hostel you take or rooms you awail . The accomodation charge will be more for single room , lesser for double sharing and least for triple sharing , it also depends on hostel you are taking and if you are awailing air conditioner in rooms . There are other hostels of colleges which charges differently . I pay 180000rs for my accomodation , as I live in air conditioned room that is double sharing in girls hostel inside campus . They provide scholarships on merit of class 12 On clat scores ( they depend upon the scores ) On ailet scores ( they depend upon scores) And they have special scholarship for girls throught beti bachao beti padhao that is 25 percent of tuition fees . They provide certain scholarships for North eastern candidates and residents of J&K . Need base scholarships are available throughout courses to which students can apply if they fulfill income criterions.

Campus Life

5

Annual fests like catalyst take place during February generally , sports fest like Umang has recently been started since two years for sports . These fests are specifically of law schools only , along with it other random fest are organized for different societies of college like Beparwah for fashion , vaakshetra for debate , thirkan for dance etc . The library is really good , air conditioned , all books are available for free to study , all course books are provided by college . Library is always open with internet connection to study . Online journals like SSC online , free daily newspapers , various different law journals are available . Smart boards are available in classroom , the classrooms are conditioned well overall above average . Cricket and sports facilities are there for outdoor and indoor games both , a gym trainer for boys and girls , gym for both and basketball court and ground is there . Students coordinator for each society is available .

Admission

I got selected in Symbiosis Noida for BALLB but the fees of 6 lakhs per semester was too much to pay for me so I left it and considered Lloyd as I was getting 40 percent scholarship . I got rejected from Symbiosis pune for law and I was also getting admission in Lucknow University , but the co- curriculars like moot court , debate society , legal aid and arbitration centres were not that good in LU which made me not consider that option for admission . Secondly , the location advantage of greater noida which is close to Delhi where a lot of law firms are present , supreme court of India is present and it's beneficial for law students . The admission process is simple , you have to apply , give credentials , clat scores if any , 10/12 scores and then an interview is done and then shortlisted candidates are taken .

Faculty

4

The faculty is really good and they put a lot of efforts in students , although I might say that student to faculty ratio is average , but still teachers try to interact personally to each students . The faculty is really interested in students , they give notes , help asses the performance and they are really approachable ..The faculty are well versed most of them are from DU , JNU , Jamia and AMU . There are good visiting faculty as well like advocates on records who come to teach subjects of law . Faculty is also very active in debate societies , moot courts and arbitration centres activities. The college conducts two internals exams in each semester to prepare and asses students which are entirely based on CCSU exam pattern so that children have less difficulty in main exams. The internals are thougher than actual university exams .Most students are able to pass the main university exams . Mrs . Smitha K who teaches Sociology to first year , is one of the best faculty members and there are many more . The course curriculum is average , i would not say that it's too good or bad , but I feel there must be revision in CCSU syllabus , but that is out of colleges control and CCSU makes its own syllabus . Although teachers try to teach in more modern way possible through presentation .

Night Life

4

There is gym , but gym for boys is better than girls . Library is good and it's open till 10 pm in night during exams so that children can study . Three cafeterias are there which have good food , at least better than mess . Public area is good although girls hostel has a very early in timings considering safety of girls . But we can roam in campus which has the academic block . Hostel and campus timings are generally 8:00 pm , after that no one can leave campus . There is alfa market , jagatfarm near college to visit , venice mall is also close by , but there is less place to visit . One benefit is metro station is close by and u can easily commute to Delhi , ghaziabad and noida to travel and visit places and chill. The locality is not so safe as it is greater noida and area near Delhi so I would say hostel in time for girls is earlier , it is only done to ensure girls are safe .

Course Curriculum Overview:

There has lot of visits like court visit, parliament visit, etc The curriculum provides a basic foundation of theoretical knowledge that is useful for understanding core concepts and for pursuing further academic studies, such as higher education or competitive examinations. It helps develop analytical thinking and subject awareness. There is significant scope for improvement in the course curriculum and teaching methods. The syllabus should be updated regularly to include recent developments, practical modules, project-based learning, internships, workshops, and skill-enhancement courses.Examinations are conducted frequently in the form of internal assessments, mid-semester exams, and end-semester exams, which sometimes creates academic pressure for students. The timing of exams is often closely packed, leaving limited time for proper preparation and revision. In terms of difficulty, the exams are generally of moderate level, though some subjects are challenging due to lengthy syllabi and conceptual depth.

Corporate Law is a subjects but no corporate placements as law firms were the sole contributors of our university. They gave as many placements as 30% students were placed and that too with very thin packages. So, university needs to fix this just like they have fixed every single thing at the campus.

Placements for Law are not comparable to the tech courses so far at GLA. Every year combining BBA LLB and BA LLB around 300 and I don't think even 100 are placed. So, GLA University will have to find a way to get atleast half the students find placements here and because I know my chances of getting placements are slim, I will be opting for doing LLM after I am done with LLB in 2027.

The college provide students with PDF lectures which focuses on personality development which includes confidence building, speaking and listening skills, etc. They also give tips for a better resume and how to give interview and prepare us for interviews by organising mock interviews. 5th year students are the focused students for the campus placement. Some students choose to be an advocate and others may prepare for higher studies and or prepare for judiciary and other civil services examinations. I personal preference to go for the one field which can open my ways for other field stoo.

Yes they do provide campus placement last year only almost 70 students were offered jobs in campus placement. But in our case most of the students have their own plans like the majority of them are generational lawyers so either they'll join their firms or they have very good contacts so they'll get places easily but in my case as a first generation lawyer we do get internship or assessment internship in which we get very good chances to get PPO they we don't have to relay on college for campus placement. In my case if i didn't get campus placement then wherever I've done my internship I'll try to convert my internship into a PPO

Students from third year have started getting Pre-Placement Offers, but many of those are majorly due to their own accomplishments. Students get ample amount of time to intern at various law firms and courts, to secure a PPO on their own. In addition to this, the Internship and Placement Committee, often comes in aid to secure PPOs for the students of the graduating batch.
