What Students Say
Likes
- ROI is most appreciated factor, Small batch size, more exposure to Placement opportunities.
- Campus is lush green. In centre of India - Delhi NCR.
- Metro connectivity, near-buy food places, inexpensive surroundings
Dislikes
- Infrastructure is not at par like IIMs, there is no separate campus for DBE, it's a shared campus so all the amenities are shared with n number of department.
Course Curriculum Overview
This course allow you to sit in all the govt exams which require economics as your majors, so it's a MBA, it's Economics also, plus plus only. It's relevant the structure is relevant but the tools used in lab still dates back. Teaching methodology is mix of conventional classroom, labs, case study approach, digital board teaching or somedays virtual classrooms as well. frequency of exam is 2 times an academic year, frequency is decent, you might be caught up by internal assesments, PPTs, case studies, so manage your time well.
Internships Opportunities
40-60k average stipend, decent number of companies, a little less than finals, but still good exposure. Big brands coming in for summers - Citi Bank, Amex, Moodys, ICICI bank, Dolat capital & a lot more.
Placement Experience
It's great trust me, I can vouch for it, the amount of fees you are giving for that number it's really good, way better than getting less package or staying unemployed over and above a hefty loans. It's around 30-40 companies atleast. Avg - 13 to 15 lpa, profile are majorily in analytics side.
Fees and Financial Aid
Annual Fees( Payable at admission) General & NC-OBC: 49,850 INR per year, PwD: 13,475 per year, Includes Tuition fees, student welfare, development, support fund. Other than this, a student collective fund for events and placement processes is 40,000 INR per year, No Scholarships as of now, but at department level Student body fund scholarships are subject to changes.
Campus Life
It's good, for me atleast it is good, I found good friends over there, got placed in summers in first few companies, made a lot of memories, connected with faculties. Library is one of the biggest in entire Delhi University.(Again shared library for south campus) Digital smart boards recently installed. Extracurricular activities are student driven and frequency is quite enough to hone and tone.
Admission
I got offer from mostly all baby IIMs, I chose DBE because of ROI, and the brand of University of Delhi is unmatchable already in India, also taking loan for an MBA in this tough market? Are you really making a rational decision? Here ROI is beyond roofs. Admission portal was a little laggy at my time, but now it works flawlessly, also initiatives from faculty and student driven bodies make instant groups, sessions to keep updated with all the Adcom related queries.
Faculty
6 - permanent faculties, 1:10 faculties to student ratio. Faculty is good and approacable, they want professional stuff like it should be at a Post Graduate level. Each faculty has it's name in the department, some for their strictness, some for their humour way of teaching. All in all it's a wholesome class everyday. It's a dual semester course per year. Course is a little too rigor if you are not from economics background. Subjects are extensive. Anyways, you'll get through, it's MBA, it's about stress management only. Relevance is too high if you are highly interested in Analytics domain in corporate.
Night Life
Only con that the course is not conventional resedential MBA course, so no night life for me, you can stay up a little late is possible. Hostel life is fun, no doubt. Nearbuy Satya niketan food places, inexpensive, good food, good locality. It's a total safe place inside campus atleast to roam around always guarded.
