Course Curriculum Overview
The course is quite different from general MBA colleges. It covers Economics, analytics, finance, marketing, OB and even corporate law and accounting is taught. It offers dual specialisation majorly in Analytics, Finance and Marketing which is selected by students in the 2nd year. For the first year it covers the basics of everything. The course lacks a little practical learning experience which can make it even better. The exams are moderate to tough because of the complex subjects
Internships Opportunities
The internships start coming from the first semester. There are some big brands visiting like Arcesium, Moodys, ICICI, Dolat Capital etc. The roles and projects offered vary from credit analyst to equity research to product management. The average stipend is around 52000 for 2 months.
Placement Experience
The companies for internships start visiting in the first semester itself. The final placements start from the beginning of the third semester. Big brands like Amex, Barclays, Arcesium, ICICI dolat capital etc. visit with variety of roles in analytics, finance and marketing. Around 20-30 companies visit the campus with almost all getting some offer and even outside they get offers. The highest package is around 28 lpa and average around 14-15.
Fees and Financial Aid
The annual fees I paid was 48500 per annum inclusive of everything which is now 49850 p.a for general category. For PwD category fees is 13475 p.a. The application fees is 2000 for the MBA BE and MBA Finance programs combined for general category and 1000 for SC/ST/PC and 1200 for a single one for general and 700 for SC/ST/PC. There are scholarships and fees waivers for low income group people. The fees doesn't move much and would somewhat remain similar.
Campus Life
There are 13-14 clubs/committees which conducts events at regular basis in very different domains. Most of the initiatives are student run. The library is the central South Campus DU library and there is proper access to the books and journals. There are no major fests or anything. DBE hosts one of the biggest TEDx event in the south campus.
Admission
The admission is via CAT exam and average percentile is around 94-95. The major factor that is attractive here is that it is not a generic MBA and is unique in its way. The ROI is great here with biggest of the companies visiting here. More than 50 years of legacy, so it has great alumni base. The other colleges I left were some of the IIMs, DSE etc.
Faculty
The program is 2 year long and works on semester system. So 4 semesters in total with 7 exams each in first two semesters and 6 each in next two with a research project in the 3rd and 4th sem. Also regular presentations, internal exams, assignments are there. The faculties are well qualified in their particular subjects. The marking scheme followed is 70 marks final exam and 30 marks for internals for each subject.
Night Life
The campus is huge and safe to roam around, students often play badminton at night. The area outside college offers places where people can go, eat chill. The college cafeteria is availabe during the classes time from around 8-6.
