Remarks

The college is one of the best colleges in the city and by heritage this is the oldest.Ths college which was established in 1882 offers a peaceful campus where Administrators, faculty and students live in harmony and get things done hand in hand.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The name of the course is B.com International Finance and Accounting. As the name indicates it deals with commerce subjects combined with some international standards of accounting which IFRS namely. The exam structure is as simple as any other course but the ACCA exams are conducted directly by ACCA themselves.

Placement Experience

4

The college has placement cell for themselves. And as the college is in the heart of the ciy the students get well exposed to many MNC's.Thats a great advantage every josephite would get.If the question is to describe my experience,I can't answer it right now.Because I just began my journey with St.Joseph's.

College Events

4.5

I'm a beginner at this college.I'm getting to know how things are done here. There are several festivals conducted by different departments.Since this only a beginning I can name ahy right now.The commerce and management department held an inaugaruation ceremony today, of platform for international professional job opportunities.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Its comparatively low.For my course its about hundered thousan indian rupees an year.Any other college at banglore charges the same fee from students for this course.Whereas some charge twice this amount.

Fees and Financial Aid

For students admitted on general merit basis there's educational loan available.Others too can avail if they have a salaried person for security. There are scholarships too but the fact is they are not known to me.

Campus Life

3.5

The college provide any kind of lab, any sports, no matter in door or out door and many more activities. There are NSS and NCC like schemes too where students can enroll themselves and get extra credits.

Hostel Facilities

3

No.I'm not staying at hostel.I opted for external pg.College hostel is very strict and not everyone has an admission to there. They themselves select the ones from a range of applications. The hostel has single , 2 sharing,3sharing rooms. And they also outsource this to an external agency.

Alumni/Alumna

There's an active alumni out there, ready for do anything for the college and the students unmindful of the work pressure. The seniors too are very friendly and helpful towards their younger ones.Afterall its a ragging free peacefull eco friendly campus.

Admission

I applied via online for this course and I had an interview there. Interview was quite tougher than expected. The interview was done by 4 people. They tested my knowledge in accounting and current affairs as well. I was able to answer them from stem to stern. And I got selectee fot the course. And we are the first batch for this course in St.Josephs

Faculty

4

The commerce and management department of the college has got a very young though eminent range of faculties. As they are energetic as each student does they can as the pupil think and they can do whatever the student does.Hence they are great mentors for us by every means.

The placement cell in my college is okay they do get few good companies for campus recruitment and they guide us thoroughly how and when we should apply for placement they do conduct some sessions and bring people to guide us with everything. The percentage of students getting placement is 50 or 60 percentage. My plan after degree is to continue pursuing acca and then finding a job abroad

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 5th semester. Our college has a dedicated placement department that really guides and supports us through the whole process. Big companies like Deloitte and KPMG visit the campus every year, and since I’m doing B.Com + ACCA, there are plenty of great opportunities in finance and accounting. Last year, around 8 students from the B.Com batch got placed in finance roles. The average package was about ?6 LPA. The best part is that placements keep getting better every year, and the college has maintained a 100% placement record. They’ve even tied up with foreign companies, which opens up more global opportunities for us. After completing my degree, I plan to build a strong career in finance—hopefully starting with a reputed company like Deloitte or KPMG—and later explore opportunities abroad.

Placement Experience:

The college offers placement through the COC (Career Opportunities) cell. Students become eligible for placements by the 5th Semester. The companies which come to hire include the Big 4s, (KPMG, Delloite, EY and BCG), Fedral Bank,TCS, etc. Almost 70% of students opt for higher eduaction so the less number of students get placed at the UG level at least. I am personally figuring out which path to choose but I have placement in mind at the end of the degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My specific aspect of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose the course is the ACCA along with Bcom. Most importantly the 9 paper exemptions provided that gives flexibility in the context of studying. The curriculum is well corporate and real world oriented. They prepare us on how to face the real corporate world through their curriculum by conducting different seminars and workshops.
