MES COLLEGE - A Basic Understanding

This curriculum provides a good theoretical knowledge. Considering the fact that this is a bachelor's course, the practicals included are also pretty good. Theory consists of different subjects like aquatic microbiology, immunology, classic genetics, microbial genetics, rDNA technology, molecular biology, clinical and nutritional biochemistry etc. Microbiology is the core subject. Biotechnology and biochemistry are complementary. First year is full of basics like fundamentals of microbiology, microbial physiology and metabolism, basic biotech and biochem. Second year is mostly industrial, aquatic, agricultural etc. From third year, there won't be any biotech and biochem. Third year is all about medical.

?19500/sem A slight increase in fees can be noted in even semesters. Library facilities are provided, so you can use books from there for academic purposes. This college comes under MG University, so the syllabus was a bit meh. Now that this program has been converted to an honours program, the theoretical and practical education has been improved. Campus is nice, very nature friendly.

Library is very good. A wide range of books are available. The staffs are very friendly and welcoming. They make the whole book finding process easy. It also comes with a reading room, which is very helpful in studying and reading in peace. We have NSS and NCC as groups.

It has the most facilities in MG University. Admission process wasn't very hectic due to good staff work. I scored 91% in kerala state board and I got accepted through allotment. To find more accurate details about admission, you should visit the college site. But keep in mind that the admission process is not at all hectic.

As I mentioned earlier, some faculties are exceptionally good at teaching and some are so damn bad that you'll wonder who qualified them for this job. Some teachers that does their job well are •Anu Ruby Benny •Nisha P •Sajeena •Aswathy Vijay •Vivas Salim •Rafeeq Failure rate of students depends on the department. Bioscience department doesn't really have much fails. Even though some faculties are good, you need to stop depending on them entirely for studying. Because some semesters only consists of faculties that suck at teaching.

The college consists of a gym which is accessible to everyone. Usually people from the hostel use it. Cafeteria food is average. Library is active till 4:30PM if I'm not worng. The locality is perfectly safe to roam around at night. Very good place with a lot of affordable food spots as they are targeted to college students.
