Course Curriculum Overview

5

Although I didn't like the course at first but after joining and learning about the course I got very interested about it after knowing the depth in the course .The Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (MME) department at NIT Warangal prepares students to become highly talented engineers, equipped with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills to excel in the industry and academics. There are one or other exam each time in the semester which makes students difficult to study.

Internships Opportunities

5

Each and every student should do internship in their core branch in 3rd year that's mandatory for everyone. The college provides internship offer in top companies . Every year more than 150 companies visit the campus to provide internship to students to check their potential. The stipend provided by them depends on students previous years cgpa and their skill in speaking and ability to communicate with team members. High tech companies also provide stipends above 1 lakh and the also fund students for research if they like their idea.

Placement Experience

5

Placements at NIT Warangal are strong, with students eligible from the seventh semester. Around 270 companies visit, including Microsoft, BOSCH, Amazon, and Accenture. In 2024, the highest package was 88 LPA. Placements for Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at NIT Warangal are quite decent, with students becoming eligible in their seventh semester. In 2023, the highest package for MME was around 25 LPA, while the average stood at 13 LPA. About 82% of students secured jobs, which is a good rate for the field. After my MME degree, I want to work in materials and manufacturing, ideally in R&D or quality control. While companies like Tata Steel and JSW are great options.

Fees and Financial Aid

As I am availang reservation,I have to pay only mess fee and hostel fee, which is 12000 and 16000 respectively for each semester. For students who have income above 5 lakhs per anum pay 12,00,000 as course fee and also pay hostel and mess fee same as others. For students whose parental income is between 1-5 lakhs per anum they pay 20,833 per semester as tution fees. For students of categories SC,ST and Pwd they have full wavier of tution fee. There are also other fees which include the following 1. Admission Fee: ?7500 2. Identity Card: ?500 3. Alumni Association Fee: ?2000 4. Students Library Fee: ?2000 5. Campus LAN Infrastructure Development & Maintenance: ?2000 6. Institution Development Contribution: ?20000 7. Student Activity Fund: ?1000 8. Medical Aid & Exam Fee: ?2000 9. Games Fee: ?1000 10. Students Welfare Fund: ?500 11. Career Development Fee: ?2000 12. Convocation Fee: ?0 13. Springspree & Technozion Fee: ?1000 14. Postal Charges: ?0 15. Department Association Fee: ?1000 The above fee is total of 42,500. Their is also scholarship program which is NSP scholarship, which will help students with their financial conditions, and their is a SBI bank in the college itself which provides education loan to students at low interest rate

Campus Life

5

Campus life at NIT Warangal is a great mix of academics, fests, and extracurricular activities. The college hosts SpringSpree, a cultural fest in March, and Technozion, a technical fest in October, both of which are major highlights. The central library is well-stocked with books, research journals, and e-resources, making it easy to access study materials. Classrooms are modern, with smart boards and tech-enabled learning setups. Sports facilities are impressive, with a large stadium for cricket and football, multiple basketball courts, and a well-equipped Student Activity Center (SAC) for club activities and events. There are plenty of student-run clubs for everything from technical and cultural activities to literature and music. These clubs make campus life more engaging and provide great opportunities to learn new skills and meet like-minded people. Overall, the campus offers a lively and enriching experience, balancing academics with a vibrant social life.

Hostel Facilities

5

In each room a bed ,a cupboard,a study table and chair is given and a Lan cable is provided for internet purpose. Meal quality is not great and menu is very casual like idly, dosa etc and they serve paneer in lunch for 4-5 times a week. Registration process is all done online after you got seat in Jossa counselling you just need to come here and confirm your details they will show your room.

Admission

I chose NIT Warangal because it offered the best mix of academics, placements, and campus life among my options. Like most students, I aimed for IITs but couldn’t get a high enough JEE Advanced rank. I also considered NIT Trichy, NIT Surathkal, and IIIT Hyderabad, but Warangal felt like the right choice. The faculty is great, placements are strong, especially for CS and ECE, and the campus has a lively environment with good industry connections. My JEE Main rank secured me a seat here, but missing out on IITs was mostly due to poor time management in JEE Advanced, especially in math. The admission process was straightforward but stressful, with JEE Main scores determining seats through JoSAA counseling. Cutoffs vary, but CS usually requires a top 2000–3000 rank. Looking back, I have no regrets. NIT Warangal provides great learning opportunities, and with the right effort, it can be just as rewarding as an IIT.

Faculty

4

That ratio of 1:70 is decent, especially considering the scale of NIT Warangal. It’s good to hear that professors are approachable—having faculty members who are willing to engage beyond just lectures can make a huge difference, especially for students interested in research or projects. There are .any exams through out the semester like two minors each of 15 marks ,20arks of teacher assessment which is totally dependent on teachers and endsem of 40 marks , coming to difficult it depends on faculty who sets the paper and does correction it also varies from branch to branch.

Night Life

5

Nightlife in NIT warangal ,is very beautiful, many of the students favourite hangout spot is timesquare which is just infront of main building, after the classes students got for playing sports, some hangout by justing roaming in the campus. After a long day students go to food Street where the food stalls are there ,they buy some snacks for refreshment. There are gyms in every hostel for students, there is also dominos, Nescafe, country oven,Amul bakery in the campus itself. Hostel are open 24/7 and college timings are from 9 to 5 . Outside the campus my personal favourite hangout places are thousands pillar temple, and Rayaans hotel just outside campus.

The curriculum is updated regularly with topics that match current technology trends. We get enough time to complete assignments and improve our understanding. Internal assessments and presentations also help in overall learning. I feel more elective subjects can be added to give students wider career options.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I like that the course doesn't feel outdated. Along with the regular subjects we spend a lot of time on coding, projects, and problem solving so it feels connected to what companies actually expect. As a second year student i already feel like i am building skills that i will be able to use during internships and placements and not just preparing for semester exams

The curriculum is one of the best parts of studying at NIAT. The subjects are designed according to what companies are looking for today, so we get to learn the latest technologies and ai tools. Classes are not limited to just lectures. Wr start using laptop from the first sem itself and most of our learning happens through coding, practical sessions, and real projects.
