Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is that of Mumbai University. Exams are held in May and December every year. There is a 20-25 day holiday after the exams end. Semesters start in July and mid January. The course curriculum is a bit outdated.
Placement Experience
The placements and job opportunities are nothing grand, they are quite generic. MNCs and mass recruiters are called every year, and in my year, majority of them were placed from college. Some students don't prefer to sit for college placements because they are not interested in going into a generic field, and want to do something else. College does provide internships but a handful of people actually take it as most of it is unpaid or doesn't pay that well. I did do 2 internships while I was in college, I found both of them on my own through external sources. My internships were in the field of marketing and social media management.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is quite expensive. It cost me approximately Rs. 4.5 lakhs in tuition fees for 4 years of college. While I was in college, they did have an option of paying the fees in installments.
Fees and Financial Aid
I have not availed any scholarships, but there more than 15-20 options where students can apply for scholarships. There are different scholarships for students of different caste, as well as some scholarships which are based on merit.
Campus Life
All the labs are well equipped, we have a artificial grass football 5-A side turf, as well as a full length football ground, a tennis court, and a cycling/running track. We also have a drama club in college, a magazine team, as well as a student council that takes care of the cultural festival.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni and senior students are very helpful and approachable. They will help you get through all hardships that you may face in college, or in professional career life, regardless of what field you are in.
Admission
After giving HSC and CET in 2013, I applied on the college website directly and did not reply on the state board admission process. I chose Gujarati minority quota while filing the form. The admission process is very simple. After the release of the merit list, students are called in and the merit numbers are announced in order so that particular student can go and select their choice of stream. After some hassle and a few cancellations in admission by different students, my merit number was called in the 4th round of admission.
