What Students Say
Likes
- The kind of facilities here are even better than most other state colleges so I feel the kind of classrooms, seminar halls, labs, etc are really good but not well maintained.
- There are various events happening here like tech fests, sports fest, etc. I am a member of SAE and Spectrum club.
- Quite a soothing place. Campus is nice. Teachers are supportive. Placement cell is quite engaging and involved.
Dislikes
- To be honest there is still a lot more to improve. We need more smart classrooms.
- Somewhere or the other teachers are quite obsessed like some of them not all.
- The curriculum has been harsh towards students as there have been many obligations that the management do not examine the answers scripts properly.
Course Curriculum Overview
Well my branch is somewhat a mix of both core as well as industry related like ITs. so i feel i am at a safe side. The curriculum actually prepares to be able to represent us in front of this competitive world in terms of applications or start ups or ideas. exams are held after every 3 4 monts for end sem.
Placement Experience
From 3rd year itself they make you industry ready through their specific programs llike internships, seminars, etc. Companies like L&T and Accenture are the leading recruiters here. Also there are companies like Amazon or GOOGLE as well. The approx percentage including off and on campus is more than 90%. My plans are basically to explore my entrepreneurship skills.
Fees and Financial Aid
The detailed fees structure break down is Rs 10000 for Ojee then the admission fees was Rs 35400. this was supposed to be for General category irrespective of any reservation. My batchmates have mostly paid Rs 45400 as all of them had reservation like SC ST and they paid only Rs 5000 to OJEE. There are numerous scholarships like OUTR merit scholarship, State scholarships like e-medhabruti or post matric and also national scholarships like Yashasvi .
Campus Life
Xtasy then Zairzest also Engineers Cup which is a sports fest and many more happen here. It's more of a happening place out here with almost everyday students taking part in some or the other activities via college or out of college. We have one the strongest teams in Cricket and even chess is given prior attention. Now, Kho KHo is also an important sport with kabaddi. Coming to culturals we have drama societies doing Nukkad natak and we have musical bands and dance groups.
Admission
I did apply for VSSUT Burla but could not clear the cutoff. Also i would like to add on this that i did a better job in choosing the seat here . No i was not rejected rather i was alloted this seat through OJEE, one needs to attempt JEE score well clear cutoffs then applybforvOJEE councelling and wait the rounds. Minimum 3 lac rank is good enough
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is 1:16 .The faculties are most of understanding and helpful. Many of them are the alumini of our own college. Sudha Sahoo, Gangadhar Nayak are some of my favorites whike Biswajit Sir is the most involving teacher here. There are 5 exams per year with almost same or varying difficulty level, 2 midsems 2 end sems 1 special exam
Night Life
NO gyms are there. There are facilities like no retention on in time as the college gate is open 24 7 for precautions. Hostels are really nice especially RHR Boys hostel food is amazing. Cafeteria has numerous stores and hotels. E-library is our main aspect here.
Other Applied Colleges
Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology - [VSSUT] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
could not clear the cut off
