Remarks
Overall, I'd give the college a 7.5/10. It's still a budding college with a lot more to develop on. The infrastructure is constantly being worked on to make it better for the students everyday and the ambience is great. One of the main drawbacks of the college is that's its too damn far, that's all. Like even after you get down at a bmtc bus stop, there's like a kilometer or more of walking to do just to reach class. But eh well, at least it keeps us healthy with all that walking.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is that of the VTU, vishweshwariah technological University. It's what a lot of other colleges in karnataka offer, apart from the autonomous ones. The curriculum is pretty solid. Lots of things we can learn from it, great stuff, as long as we have lecturers who can associate the basic theoretical stuff with present day technologies used in day to day life, I'd say it's pretty good.
Internships Opportunities
I don't think we do. I haven't heard of any so far or maybe I haven't just asked anyone. So I don't know what to write for the minimum 200 character essay here. I guess I'll just explain how internships are best done outside colleges in startup companies or reputed companies whichever that provide a good work place experience and possible a stipend.
Placement Experience
The placements officer seems well connected and there are a lot of opportunities for well performing students. Students absolutely need to maintain a minimum of 6.7 GPA aggressive are throughout the 8 semesters to avail the placements from any company.
College Events
We celebrate a lot of events. And most happen in the even semesters. In the odd semesters we celebrate the kannada rajyotsava with a huge programme and also ethnic wear for all the students. In the even semesters, there's a separate ethnic day, a sports meet, a fest with a lot of fun events, sometimes holi celebrations and all of which are fun filled to the core! You just gotta be here to witness it!
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is almost the same as most VTU colleges. If you join through CET, the college fees is about 30k and then CET fees will will be about 56k,which they ask every year. If you travel with college transport, that will cost another 20k. So if you wanna join this college, just keep 1 lakh ready each year.
Fees and Financial Aid
Well I'm a general merit student, so that should tell you about my chances for a scholarship :/ But anyways, there's a lot of scholarships available for all the reserved caste people. And I've seen a lot of them avail them in the college getting forms to fill at the xerox centre. And even if you're GM, if you've got low income and an income certificate to prove it, you have some chances at a scholarship too, so don't lose hope, fellow GM people!
Campus Life
I guess the extracurricular activities mostly depend on the branch you join. My branch does it a lot. A few other branches don't do it a lot. We have a ton of small events like technical quizzes, debate contests, photography contests etc. Labs are great with a lot of practical learning experience about all kinds of different things. There's a lot of opportunities for sports but the thing is, if someone focuses too much on sports, they lag behind on the academics most of the time, so that's a sad reality. But if they can cope up with both at the same time, that's great.
Hostel Facilities
I'm not a resident in the hostel but I've heard the rooms and amenities are pretty good. There's food everyday 3 times obviously and I've heard it's pretty good. I've also tasted a few times which I'd rate 8/10. There's a sports room close to the boys hostel which has a lot of indoor games and a gym. There's a huge ground for outdoor sports and also a separate basketball and throwball ground near the girls hostel. There's also a neat little Cafe near the girls hostel that caters all kinds of snacks and chats and some fast food.
Alumni/Alumna
The seniors of our branch have been a blessing to us juniors. They literally motivated us from the beginning and inspired so many of us young budding talents. From organizing huge workshops to all those small events like the technical quiz and debates and all the others, the seniors have been there for us. I wholeheartedly express my gratitude to them.
Exam Structure
The exam structure is the same as any other VTU college. And it might have been revised for the recent batches. Out structure has 3 internal and 1 external examination in theory subjects and 1 internal and eternal each for labs in every semester. The internals carry 30% of the marks, externals 60% and the remaining 10% is from assignments and quizzes that are done here and there across the semester
Admission
After getting selected to the college through CET, I went to the college in person to enquire further about the admission process. I was treated with good hospitality and we inquired about when the classes and all were going to start and the fees structure which were neatly explained to us. I was asked to fill out a few forms and provide my 12th marks card and CET rank and all other necessary documents like tc, migration certificate etc.
Faculty
As far as their teaching abilities go, everyone is amazing in their own right. If they're teaching a subject of their choice or of their interest, their teaching goes to great lengths. Some do slack a bit while it comes to uninteresting subjects but by no means are they incompetent in teaching. Most of them provide their own notes for the students to understand the subjects easier and they can be really enthusiastic.
