Remarks

Regarding Positive or negative remarks, I'd just say that it all depend on us to make it positive or negative. Every thing has its own flaws and benefits and we cant complain on every single flaw we discover in them. What we can do is to find a way to make that flaw in your benefit. This college has many flaws but It also states that more flaw it has , more opportunity it gives you to reform it in something worthwhile. So all in one I would just say It is worthwhile if you vision to see through the flaws sooner and use more of your time in reforming them for your benefit.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

It is too vast in one semester and sometime too easy in another semester. but somehow it is balanced. We cannot criticize the curriculum as it was designed based on proper justification so it must be good and proper with no flaws. The problem is with us and in our way of following this curriculum. To make things better for engineering students If we cant change the curriculum we must change the way it is followed in college. The most basic point it should focus on is to be student-focused and knowledge-oriented and not marks oriented.

Internships Opportunities

Yes It does. But it is just based on self study and your hardworking capabilities. It is perfect for the one who grasp things easily will get the most benefit from this college. Since It does provide many opportunities to explore but only problem is you have to depend on yourself and your talent to pass through it. There is no assistance from college if you are not knowledgeable enough.

Placement Experience

4

Placements are good. Many good and new companies visit and startups are supported if they are potential enough to succeed. But Most of the dream companies have minimum criteria of 60% aggregate( 6.67 CGPA) thus is what I feel is an unfair fight.

College Events

4.5

There are many events in the college. Since It is engineering college apart from praxis it doesn't have any another technical fest that is unjust. Rest all are cultural festivals and somewhere i feel these cultural festival divert our mind too much on unnecessary things. The focus of engineering college should be to bring innovation and creativity to invent and discover new technologies. Apart from praxis, we have sphurti - sports event , bliss -music event, etc

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is expensive but feasible compared to others. However, through CAP it does have TIFF discount over FEE and many EBC and other scholarship are granted to merit students to help needy students. However, There are many scholarships for other castes while being minority college it only grants one scholarship to sindhi minority.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are many scholarship offered here. I do not know many names but there is only one most common scholarship granted through merit for all. It grant 10,000 amount every semester for 7 cgpa students.

Campus Life

4.5

There is Sphurti inter college for both outdoors and indoors. There is also VCL - VESIT Cricket league that play cricket for our college. There is also our dance group which partcipate in dance competitions in different colleges

Hostel Facilities

3.5

They are expensive. Hostel infrastructure is good but doesn't have many facilities. However, the stay is comfortable but just the facilities are too less. It does have many functions like Diwali, Holi, etc. Almost all festivals are celebrated here.

Alumni/Alumna

There is our alumni team that are in contact with us and give advice to the juniors. They are indeed helpful. We do call our alumni for an discussion or seminars so as to get their views highlighted to our juniors and also to encourage them showing that one of our alumni have reached to a point that we have to call him for discussion in his own college in front of his own teachers.

Exam Structure

It is too tedious. Two unit test and then end semester exams in every 6 months with many assignment ,journal work and mini project for every practical subject that too without any assistance from college. This all is too much work in six months. If we cant change it then at least lessen our burdens by eradicating too much of written work with printed material.

Admission

I got admission on basis of sindhi minority through offline. It was based on cumulative score which is calculated using 12th standard score and entrance score(JEE or CET) together. Based on that cumulative score merit list generate. There are three list posted. But It is also done in online through CAP

Faculty

3

The faculties are good and friendly but may be they are not competitive enough. What I need from them Is What I didn't found in my faculty teachers. They are too focused with just syllabus and scoring and passing exams. This was the thing i was most disappointed. The reason I came in this competitive technology world was to enhance my vision beyond books and scoring and passing. I had expected the engineering world would be different and free of restriction. We could study beyond boundaries and explore more new things ,learn and experiment.

Placement Experience:

The college has a dedicated Training and Placement(T&P) cell and has regular recruitment drives that work to place students in companies where they will be values highly. Each year, 600-700 students are placed from all the branches. More than 300+ companies visit but the ones that hire are limited such as TCS, Capgemini, Infosys, Tech Mahindra which generally are mass recruiters that look for employees that will work for 3LPA or 4.5LPA. The highest packages go to about 30 to 40 LPA domestic and 61 LPA foreign but it is very rare to get a placement like this and requries considerable effort on the side of the student as well. Average package is 7 LPA for CS/IT branch; 5 LPA for electronics and telecommunications branch; 4 LPA for mechanical. My plan after getting the degree is working for 1-2 years while simultaneously pursuing masters.
