Remarks

The food in the mess is not so good, but edible. Red tag annas(incharge of law in order) are really rude and do not listen to students at all. In time for students is way too early (9.00 for men and 8.30 for women). The college provides with awesome infrastructure. One can really develop themselves in studies and other areas of interest. Great placement records and packages provided. All in all, it is a great place to be, and truly follows it's tagline, A place to learn, A chance to grow.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum is divided into 4 sections, University Core(which all students have to do irrespective of the branch they are in), Program Core(courses are compulsory for all students in that branch, each branch has their own set of PC courses), Program Electives(Subject-specific courses which students pick according to their interests in the branch), University Electives(all other subjects that university provides). All these have to be done in a specific format as given by the university, which is optimized to get the best results out of the students

Internships Opportunities

Yes, one can get an internship via the placement cell of the college. The stipend one gets depends upon their performance in the tests given by the companies. It may vary from 7k to about 40k or more per month.

Placement Experience

5

Excellent placement opportunities are provided by the Placement Cell( it ften referred to as PAT Office) of the college. A lot of students get a super dream offer, i.e. a job with CTC>9LPA, most of the students get a dream offer, i.e. a job with CTC>5LPA, and regular offer, i.e. salary less than that of a dream offer, are also available. In 2019 batch, the highest salary of 39.6LPA was given by Mircosoft to 4+ students. The placement record of the college is 100%

College Events

5

A number of events occur throughout the year in the college, like MUNs, hackathons etc. 2 major colege festivals are celebrated Riviera, the sports and cultural fest(ranked among top 5 college fests in Asia), held for 4 days and GraVITas, which is a 3 day tech-fest

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure depends upon the category in which you belong to. The categories are made according to the rank you get in VITEEE. There are 5 categories as of now and category 1's fee is a bit less than that of an IT and Category 5(tution fee) goes upto about 5.5lakh per annum. The hostel and mess fee are paid separately ehich depends upon the type of room and mess you have chosen.

Fees and Financial Aid

Students in VIT get scholarship for outstanding performances in curriculum and extra curriculum. Sports scholarships are given out to the students in college team on the University Day, in which our honourable Chancellor himself awards the certificate and the scholarship amount to the respective students

Campus Life

4.5

The labs are really good, they provide you with every equipment/software an engineer would need. If unavailable they make sure they are made available as soon as possible. Special items can also be requested for. The sports in the college isn't given much importance, but the infrastructure available is good.

Hostel Facilities

3

The hostel on the men's side is a bit too congested. The 6 bedded rooms are too small to accommodate 6 students(except for the new Q block rooms). The facilities other than the hostel rooms are top notch. There are a number of fields available to play cricket, football, basketball, volleyball, badminton, tennis and what not. The labs and classrooms are also best in class

Alumni/Alumna

The alumuni are helpful and seniors are always ready to help. But a lot of students do not know about the alumuni association. The work done is great and the alumuni association works effectively and efficiently

Exam Structure

Each semester has a set of 3 exams (CAT-1,CAT-2,FAT). Other than this 3 assignments and a project is to be made for each subject in the semester. The two CATs are of 50 marks (Unit assessment tests) each and FAT is of 100 marks(Final full subject assessment test).

Admission

We have to apply online on the VIT website and register yourself for the VITEEE, VIT Engg. Entrance Exam. Once it is done we receive a admit card and a test centre. Post-test the results are declared and students are called for counselling. The counselling happen at the same time for all the VITs and students are called for it according to their ranks in the exam

Faculty

4

The faculties of the university are very knowledgeable and have a knack to solve the problems faced by the students. Most of the faculties are South Indians so initially it is a bit problematic for North Indians to understand but it becomes easy within a month or two. They are always ready to clear the doubts.

Placement Experience:

One thing I really need to appreciate at CIT is its placement training program. The placement team conducts regular sessions on 1. aptitude 2. coding 3. communication skills 4. group discussions and 5. interview preparation which helped me feel more confident during placements. The trainers were friendly and always encouraged us to improve our skills step by step. They provide continuous guidance and feedback throughout the training process. Mock interviews and one to one assessments helped me to understand my strength and weak areas and I work on improvements . These sessions not only improved my technical and communication skills but also boosted my confidence . The placement training team played an important role in preparing me for career opportunities and industry expectation

Placement Experience:

Chennai Institute of Technology is an instituition that truly prioritizes student career growth . The placement cell is exceptionallu well-organized ,consistently connecting students with reputed companies across various industries. What makes CIT stood out is the quality of its training staff. They focus heavily on communication , technical knowledge and competitive preparation ,align students with what top companies expect ,and contiuosly push us to improve and meet industry standards. Their structured training helped me to clearly identify my strengths and work on my weak areas, which made a huge difference during interviews and boosted my overall confidence. The department faculty are equally commnedable ,knowledgable ,approachable and genuinely invested in student career. Overall CIT is an excellent choice for anyone focused on building a strong and sucessful career
