Likes

The infrastructure and the facilities provided in the academic blocks are great.
There's a good amount of diversity and the campus is pretty inclusive.
The faculty are well qualified to be teaching the course.

Dislikes

Management from hostel team at times can be poor.

Course Curriculum Overview

Students have multiple papers diving into different fields of psychology. The first semester focuses more on building a foundation while semester 2 onwards. As for the frequency of exams, they're conducted twice a semester. One mid-term examination and one end-term examination.

Class Size: 44Course Fees: INR 150000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The course's yearly tuition fee is 1,50,000 along with an additional 10,000 which is the security deposit. Multiple scholarships are available (26 scholarships in total for the academic year 2024-25). The fee waiver can be upto 50% of the tuition fee and also applies to hostel fees if opted for non-ac room.

Campus Life

The events on campus are amazing. They're always very engaging and attract a good amount of audience. There are events organized by different departments and also by student run clubs as well as the hostels. The clubs at dlhs are very diverse ranging from dance, music, mythology, gender and so much more

Admission

The admission process for the college only involves clearing an interview. I had applied to 5 other colleges. 4 were for Bachelors in design while the remaining was for ba psychology. I was accepted into 3 out of 4 colleges for design while for the college for ba psych, i was diverted to another course.

Faculty

Faculty- the faculty at this college is truly amazing and all of them teach very well. They know what they are talking about and most of the faculty has completed their PhD. the course and all the subjects that are being taught are all relevant to the course. There are 3 subject-focused papers and 3 additional courses. Exams- the exams aren't difficult by any means and if studied properly, it's easy to score well.

Night Life

The hostel timings are pretty decent. Students are supposed to be back on campus by 9.30 pm and they can wander around the campus till 11 pm. There are a fair share of habgout spots near the campus but since the college is away from the main city, popular spots can take a while to get to.

- curriculum specially for BA is not like how you see in other universities it's a comprehensive curriculum where your also studying subject like AI learning, data analysis, regional languages and so much more it is a comprehensive course which is not only focusing on your major but also on an overall development of you as a student.. - well we are not only getting in-class lectures but we also have a internal component of internship every year which helps us get an experience of real world situations and job market. -There is one course called numbers we have that could be improved it basically talks about mathematical in economic applications numerical implications particularly which has not been given more thought on it could be more elaborated and structured well. - frequency is high and difficulty is moderate usually.

A good college for starting your new journey

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible to sit for placement in their final years. The companies which comes for the placement are deloitte, goldmanSachs, amazon and many more reputed companies. And they do make many offers. The highest package reports around 30 LPA and the average goes on around 3 to 4.5 LPA. Around 70-90 percent get placements. My plans is to pursue higher studies.

Life at Christ

Placement Experience:

Placements are given in our college for a lot of departments. A senior of ours got placed into Reuters with a very high placement. In the last year, that is the 4th year, you get eligible for campus placement. After I get my degree in History, I will pursue my master's in history from Christ University only or from a foreign college belonging to the Ivy league. After that, I will pursue my PhD in history and also give the Civil Services Examination.

Speaking of psychology and Criminology, hands on to their interactive classes with real life examples which makes learning more interesting, the department also held orientation programs and sessions for students. Speaking of English department they need to improvise the faculty for the English departmentm rest eveything is great.

Placement Experience:

Our college does provide placement. Big Companies like ITC, Marriott, Taj, Oberoi etc. come in and conduct interviews to select suitable candidates. And they provide a good salary as well. The average salary can be between 20 - 25 lakhs.

One of my graduation seniors was studying Azim Premji University and had all good things to say about the college. I decided to just search it online. I found the curriculum suitable for professional career. I was asked to deposit 12th marksheet scoring 68% and also appeared for the entrance test. Based on the entrance tests, I was shortlisted for personal interview and then the final selection is made depending upon the opted course.

Remarks:

I liked the course provided by this college. The subjects are different for every semester and the aura is splendid. This college provides a very good faculty which not only is good at keeping up with academics, but also is great in keeping a good rapport with their students. There is a whole variety of extra curricular activities which brings out the core personality of every student. I for a fact, had stage fear. But after I chose MIC, I really started getting over it.

The Pros and Cons of being a student at MIT Manipal

I tried JEE but could not secure a good enough percentile to get into prominent NITs. MIT Manipal seemed to be better than any of the cet colleges with only the course fee being slightly on the higher end. I applied to SRM and VIT, both of which i got accepted into, but opted out as it seemed like both of these colleges rely heavily on student intake and are money minded. MIT Manipal has an exam called the MET which is based on a jee scheme (+3 -1). In my year the only marks required to secure a seat in the college was the MET but the scheme has changed and now board marks are also taken into consideration. JEE percentile can also be considered if the student secures above 95 , but most students take MET and are given ranks according to it....Read More

It's about the pros and cons of the college and it will help you further to make a good decision.

For you to get the Manipal name you have you give met which is Manipal Entrance Test. You have to score above 40 to get any seat in manipal.After that there are three rounds of counselling which you have to clear .. the college does not support any sort of reservation..
