every course is well planned and real life applications are made to experience for students. But exams are not conducted well enough. If a student fails in a particular course he or she have to complete that backlog either in summer semister during holidays or in next year with junior batch. This wastes a lot of time, If there is an alternate way like re-examination for failed students that would save a lot of time

two of the biggest companies are hiring in this month of february like google and microsoft with a stipend of 80k per month during summer companies like myntra, flipcart, amazon, JPmorgan, intel, cisco, uber, intuit, morgan stanley, goldman sachs, oracle, jindal steel, zomato, swiggy, tata steel, ONGC etc starts hiring. Shortlisting depends on CGPA set by companies, 7.5 cgpa is considered to be least to get shortlisted.

recession year is going on right now so placements for students is not great now. although in mining sector it is not that bad, the average package is still good but percentage of students getting placed had decreased. It is definitely not permanent and the percentage will gradually increse

tution fee is 100000 and hostel fee is around 30000,if your family income is less than 100000 then you are asked just to pay hostel fee. If your family income is in between 1-5lpa then you have pay 2/3rd of tution fee and full hostel fee. If your family income is more than 5lpa then you have to pay full fee including tuition and hostel fee. the tution fee might decrease or increase as semisters proceed. there is a scholarship called MCM(merit cum need), students are rewarded with 10000 rupees per year if your family income is less than 6lpa. All the above mentioned fee structures is applicable to every student regardless of reservation. the only exception is for SC,ST category students they are not required to pay any tution fee regardless of their family income.

campus life is great and diverse, sports fests, cultural fests, tech fests are widely conducted. Srijan(cultural event), parakram(sports fest), concetto(tech fest), are some of the major fests, library is Asia's second largest and has wide range of books. There are also social groups and clubs like fast forward india(FFI) run by students to help local kids that cannot afford for education by providing books and students personally volunteer as teachers for those kids and help raise funds.

for my rank IIt dhanbad is the best option and I took it for iit-tag previlages. To get into this college you have to clear JEE mains examination and JEE advanced within cutoff rank. Also cutoffs depend on students's category.

Faculty is highly capable and knowledgeble. All the proffessors have some kind of medal or a degree and almost 20-30 yrs or more experience. But some faculty are old fashioned and are hard to approach but it is not that problamatic. Exams are divided into mid-semister exams and end-semister exams. 30% of weightage for mid-sem, 50% for end-sem, 20% for quizes or vivas or assignments are conducted depending on proffessor

Night life is okish. Earlier we didnt have a set intime for students in hostel but now students are not allowed to go out of hostels after 12AM due to some reasons and the intime for main entrance is 10PM. study rooms in library are open for 12AM. canteens in hostels are active until 2-3AM in night. Ruby Garden, Lower ground are some good places to hangout with friends
