Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculumn is well designed and structured based on requirements in the corporate sector. All the students are required to learn Programming as well. Students are well trained for real world applications, especially the job market. Scope for students from all interests are available. Placement guidance, Startup Incubators, training for Management roles, even guidance for Higher Studies or Civil Serivce exams are available. Students are also mandated to learn atleast a single Foreign language.

Internships Opportunities

4

All the students get mail regarding available internship opportunities. They are not to be missed, competition is a bit high here in VIT. More than internships, research opportunities are vast. Students get internship opportunities from various colleges and organisations, though their details are generally concealed. Always be prepared and continually hone your skills if you want to get good internship opportunities.

Placement Experience

5

Students become eligible for placements from 6th semester. Almost all the students get placed, around 95 %. Packages vary from 4 LPA to 88 LPA. I plan to pursue higher studies after my degree and will actively look for startup opportunities.

Fees and Financial Aid

College Tuition fees for B.Tech. Electrical and Electronics Engineering for Category - 1 is ?1,76,000 only. For successive categories, which go upto category 5, the tuition fee increases by approximately ?1,00,000. development and lab fees are covered in the tuition fees. Fees of my batchmates varies according to their category. For scholarships, you have to rank in under the top 100 in VITEEE.

Campus Life

5

Joining a club is mandatory for all. The social life here in VIT is very conducive to a strong network building. You meet all kinds of people all the time. There is'nt a place in VIT that is not without people. Also there are special technical teams which are based on Robotics, Mechanics, Avionics and much more. The library is very well maintained. All the books required for the course are available and can be very easily navigated. Students can get upto 4 books issued from the library for a maximum of 28 days considering extension of due dates. All classrooms are well equipped with audio and video facilities, projectors and speakers along with some electrical outputs. The social life here is superb.

Admission

I didn't apply for any other colleges. Legit, I didn't. The admission happens on a first come, first serve basis. Whether it be hostel allotment or course allotment, you have to be vigilant for the deadlines and proceedings. Your rank in the VITEEE determines your fees for the entire course.

Faculty

5

1:70 is the faculty ~ student ratio as far as I know. Faculties cannot be classified as good or bad, all are good in their own sense. And there are many faculty members, so it is impractical to list whom I like and whom I do not. There are three exams - CAT 1, CAT 2 and FAT And three assignments - 3 Digital Assignments Their scores are converted to a net of 100, which is then considered for grading. Theory subjects are graded relatively i.e. depends on the class average. Lab components are graded absolutely against 100 marks. The exams and assignments are easy in the sense that they are do able.

Night Life

5

Free gym, equipped with all sorts of equipment in each hostel, operates from 6 to 8 in the morning and 4 to 8 in the evening. Though the gym is a bit crowded at times in the evening. Hostel in timing is strictly 9 for boys and 8 for girls. Hostel attendance is noted daily after 9 pm in the boys hostel. The locality is very safe for night life. There are guards stationed at every place. Safety is not compromised. Famous hangout places are the Clock Tower, Gazebo, North Square.
