Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course cirriculum for our batch is updated, like they have updating subjects such as full stack development - MERN stack dev, Flutter lab, Devops(both subject and lab) and the portion too is very diverse. However the big catch here is the portion desiging is amazing but the implementation is rather poor. The faculty barely try to teach them properly and even if they do try it, they are discouraged by various reasons such as student disinterest, no support from HODs etc. Frequency and timing of the exams is decent I suppose like the gap is ok for mids and end sem exams

Placement Experience

2

The placement trend of our college at this moment is relatively bad. The placements were good for the 2022 passed out batch and has been declining since then. The current batch placement percentage is around 40% and they are in 4th year 2nd semester. Mass hiring companies visiting our college include - Accenture, Cognizant, Infosys etc. There are some other startups such as WinWire, ADP etc. There are no hopes by me from the college so I plan to hunt for the job off campus and my plan after the degree is to make sure this happens

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly fees of my college(MREC) is currently 1.2 lacs and there is an additional miscallaneous fee(library and etc) which consists of yet another 10,000 so the total can be said as 1.3 lacs per year. The fee is same to all the departments of our college including CSE,IT,Mining,Civil etc. The management fees of our college depends on the student attending. It ranges from 10 lacs to 15 lacs for 4 years of Bachelors. If a student comes through EAMCET(councelling) they can avail fee reimbursement from the government provided they are SC's, ST's or minorities - their total fee is just 5,500 per year. If the student is from EBC(Economically Backward Class) then they can get upto 35,000 exempted from the total fee. I am from this background, so I pay around 95000Rs total per year. Other fees such as exam, stationery, transport, hostels etc are seperate.

Campus Life

4

The event section of our college is very good. We have many individual events related to the specific branch such as AIML, DS, CSE etc. But the main highlight events are 2 - Vishesh and Akshara. Vishesh is the technical event where students form groups and submit there project ideas. This event is like a project expo. Then there is Akshara which is a cultural festival - dances, programs, concerts etc. Library is good - it has many decent books and quite the scope. Faculty too recommend the library books and leasing from the library is easy too. There are many inter and intra sports events too in our college. There is also NCC and NSS in the college managed by various PT sirs/madams

Admission

Speaking honestly I did not choose the college but was forced to taken as I go this college in the three phases of the councelling. The other colleges I applied are VNR VJIET, GRIET, Vasavi etc. which have very good coding communities, support from seniors and Internship trainings from the college which my college clearly lacks. I didn't make it to the other colleges because of the poor planning of mine during the competitive exam(EAMCET) because of various reasons, which I am to be blamed. The admission process of our college is comparatively easy, like if one student comes from management background they just have to pay the fees and submit the certificates and the process is done. Councelling students need to pay fee yearly and submit the certificates during college visit initially. Our college accepts exam results from EAMCET, JEE and even IPE marks are enough for admission.

Faculty

3

The faculty to student ratio of the college is around 1:50 I assume. The faculties are not at all good. That said there are some(very few) whose teaching is unique and classes are good when they takeover. Such of them include Srinivas sir, Sharma sir, Uday sir and more. There are 2 mids and a final exam(both subjective and labs follow the same pattern). For our Regulation we follow a 60:40 division i.e 40 marks for mids where the 2 mid marks are taken average and the final 60 marks Semester Exams. The mids are pretty easy to score and the Sem is tough, if not properly studied.

Night Life

4

There are many gyms outside and gym facility in the college too which is available for the students staying in the college dorm - it costs around 1.2 lpa. Many cafes, mandis, hotels and restaurants exist as the college is completely a student area. My favorite hang out spots include Chai bunk, Chillax, Set mandi etc. The night life is decent but better be cautious.

From 4th year 1st semester, the students become eligible for campus placements. About 10-15 companies visited our college with minimum 3 lpa. And only 30% of students are placed in the campus placement. Companies like virtuza, movate, cognizant, hcl visited our campus for placement. The highest package was 4.5 lpa and lowest was 2.8 . My plans after getting degree is work in a reputed mnc.

Generally, students from 3rd year second semester are eligible for the placements. some, who are interns at a company earns the place to proceed for the rest of life. some others should try harder because they didnt get the internship. It is important to get internship. Companies do visit vasavi such as visa, silicon labs, cisco and more to pick interns or to pick engineers. percentage around 60-70 gets placed every year.
