Remarks

The pros about the Smasc are that it is easily approachable and there are frequent MTC busses running near the premises. Management and the students are friendly. The cons are that the college has only one college bus but if you need you can ride with their engineering college bus but according to their schedule.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

It is a Madras University affiliated college, so the curriculam of the course is followed by the rules and regulations of Madras University. It's mostly the basics of all the programming languages so it's not so tough

Internships Opportunities

No. My college does not provide any kind of internship. But the Placement officer can get you a Recommendation letter for any company you wish from the college management. But you will be needed to maintain excellent grades for that letter.

Placement Experience

3.5

The Placement officer takes care of our placement needs and they send final year students to off-campus interviews and job fairs etc. A Job fair is conducted in our college every year and many number of companies attend the job fair and the students get placed right away.

College Events

3

The Independence day and the Republic day are celebrated in our college every year. We have a movie day for the freshers and each department has its own"Department Function" which is supervised by the final year students. Which is followed by the farewell of final year students.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is feasible. It depends on the course you're taking. Mine had a fees of ?13,000 per semester. Most of the course's fees are about the same without much differences. They give you enough time to pay the fees.

Fees and Financial Aid

Students can avail the sc/st scholarship provided by the government. Other than that i don't think you can get any loan facility or schlorship from the college. They don't provide any form of schlorship for the students.

Campus Life

4

They let you play sports for the first year and that's it. But each department have fully facilitated individual labs for them. The computer labs are fully air-conditioned and there is also a communication lab.

Hostel Facilities

3

There is no hostel for the arts and science college. But you can request a room from the engineering college hostel if needed. It has a single cot room to three cot room. Hostel has it's own canteen and only the hostel students are allowed to there.

Alumni/Alumna

There are no known alumni. But the senior students are very friendly. As I mentioned earlier it is a ragging-free campus and mostly the final year students help the first year and the second year students with their needs with record and observations.

Exam Structure

The Exam timetable is given by Madras University as it is a Madras University affiliated college. The exams follow a different pattern for each year students. The exams maybe tough or easy it depends on the University.

Admission

I just got the application form and the next day submitted the form along with the fees amount of 5k and caution deposit 1.5k to hold the seat. After a couple of days we went and paid the full fees amount for the first year(Though full payment is not necessary).

Faculty

4

Most of the faculty are well-trained and they are friendly and easily approachable. They will help you study no matter what and they conduct special classes for the students who need help with their grades in those subjects.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Our course covers the basic of the subjects and we have not gained advanced knowledge. Although well prepared, it was difficult to attend the entrance exam in other institution. Practicals are less than theory. So the course should give more deep knowledge about the subjects and also practical knowledge.

.The placement cell works very actively in the college providing a lot of placement opportunities from companies like Zoho , Wibro, World Bank with good packages. The companies provide training where they train the overall personality and performance of the students through interactive sessions, tasks and interviews.
