Review For DR. S. & S.S. GHANDHY GOVERNMENT ENGINEERING COLLEGE.

The course curriculum that the university provides is not upto the mark and needs to be revised thoroughly because it comprises ofmany old technologies which are needed to be revised. But ignoring it the syllabus is not that bad and in fact its hard in the university exams to get failed. The syllabus and the teaching methods are taken in mind while creating it so that practicals and theories can be completed easily. Also it has practicals which helps students in their life after getting degree. It is easy and more practical considering everything

College provides internship with the second year of the college life itself but it is very few but generally each and every one gets the internship till last semester. Also the internship is headed by famous companies like L&T, BIRLA, RELIANCE, etc. It just requires all over skills of the students to grab their internship. Also 60 to 80% of the students get their first jobs before the completion of their internship and final year according to the work they do. I would rate the college best if one likes to be in surat.

This college provides the best placements in Surat for Mechanical Engineering field as there are many many fields in the city considering Hazira side areas where companies like L&T reside which take students from Gandhy college first, then fron other colleges. It provides a hefty sum of 700000 to 800000 per annum average and the campus placement packages go upto 250000 260000 per year which is a very good amount. Talking about the employment in this field, it is drastic in every field comprising of any kind of machineries.

My experience for this college is very very nice because they provide the best education, many events, and alsi empowers students to take part in sport events, and year end event- ANVESHAN which is basically an event which ensures that the students learn new things, learn how to work together in a group. Also this events make 0 effects on studies of the students professor will take classes and will also explain many times. Also there is 0 ragging cases in the campus. Also no other illegal activities take place inside the college. Books regarding every subject and every topic can be taken from the library it has many many books which are according to how the students want it.

Personally I chose the college just because it was Government institute as i knew earlier that government colleges comes wuth minimum 75 % attendance so i made sure at the time of registration that i would study and not bunk the classes. Comparing to other private colleges in surat i would rate it the best considering the quality of education they provide and the fees they take from the students. For an example taking ck pithawala college, they provide the worst quality of education, comparing to sarvajanik university scet college they take a hefty 1.5 lacs per year so it was the best price to quality ratio in surat. I know that colleges like VGEC Chandkheda, AIT Ahmedabad, MSU Baroda, LD ahmedabad were better than this but my rank was low in ACPC and so i thought i will take this college in my hometown. The registration process for the college is also too simple it requires just registration in ACPC and set all the colleges in a chronological order you like and then you get to select your college depending upon your rank.

Each and every professor employed here atleast has a masters degree and 70 -80 % of them are with a Phd, which is just so good because they can explain and they explain each and every topic, subtopic in a good detailed way. The faculties are well approachable but you just need to be polite with them if not they have the power to ruin everything. Faculty like Vinod sir are very very smart in their field, very cooperative to the students and just feels so good when we talk to them. There is no such faculties in my case which i dislike. Exams taken by the college are tough if you haven't attended lectures regularly but yes they are tough than the university exams too. But the faculties try to make you pass in the exams but will assure that students with less efforts in their academics dont get good grades.

Atwagate or athwalines area is considered one of the best areas for nightlife in surat. There are many benches and places for the hostelites to just sit and enjoy the environment in the college itself. Hangout places like RR AND VR malls are the best for shopping and roaming, also the Adajan area is obe of the best for roaming. Area is also very close to famous cafeterias like K's Charcoal, Galleria etc. The area sleeps or goes off around 12 so its not that bad too.
