Optometry at University of Hyderabad

It's India's one of the best University so everything is excellent. It's a professional course and here you will get 100% placements. You can do do hospital jobs or you can do your own clinics because after completion you will become an individual practitioner.

We can choose hospitals for internship but most of the hospital are non stipend hospital but there are some hospital like Maxi vision eye hospital, Dr.Agarwal eye hospital are providing stipend internship.

In 12th semester or last semester students become eligible for campus placements. Vision Express, Lawrence and Mayo these companies visited and offered for jobs. Students will get 100% placements. Now I'm doing job in Vision Express.

In one year there are two semesters. In each semester the semester fees is 20000. So, yearly 40000( all fees are included in this such as tuition fees, caution fees, registration fees, admission fees, development fees, lab fees, medical fees and the other compulsory charges. This University is located at telengana so telengana government provides Epass scholarship, by that Telengana students parents are not government employee can study free of cost. There is one University fellowship where University provide ?1000/per month for 1500 students (for students who belongs to lower annual income i.e less than 2lac per year).

In the campus there are so many students from different different states and everyone states students celebrate different different festivals such as bengali students do Porichiti, kerala students do keraleeyam. Our university has on of the biggest library, named Indra Gandhi memorial (IGM) library where you will get all Books. In Every classroom there is projector, screen and wifi access. University will organise cricket, football, volleyball, basketball, badminton night cups every semester. So many club run, marathon takes in place in the University.

Each room has 2 beds, 2 almirahs, 2 tables, 2 chairs for two students and rooms are quite big and comfortable for two persons. Compare to North campus, south campus is newer, so rooms in south campus are very good and clean. Food in mess is good. At the time of addmission University will provide hostel and they will charge 500 rupees for room rent per semester. Rooms are available near Gopanpally area.

When I joined this University that time University conducted one university addmission test and through that test I got addmission. Now to take addmission you have to give CUET exam. Eligibility criteria for CUET is 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. After results University will call for councelling and students has to attend in the councelling process.

Faculty to student ratio is 1:8 Geetha K Vemuganti, our Dean, is one of a great scientist and her teaching style is very simple and excellent. All faculties are good and they have different different research areas. There will be 3 internal exams and one major or external exam in each semester. Everyone can clear each exams easily.

Free gym available, there are two shopping complex where you will get everything, there in one cafe coffee day also inside the University. There are 23 hostels, 13 men's hostel and 10 ladies hostel. Campus is open for 24×7 for students. There are so many places to roam inside the University like Mushroom Rocks, White Rocks, High rocks, Buffalo lake, peacock lake and there are so places to explore inside the campus. Campus and outside locality is completely safe to roam around at night.
