Pros: 1) The college has taken several good initiatives this year like Choose your own faculty, Introduction of the SLP program for better preparation during placements, Introduction of subjects like GST, and also some minor tweaks to the existing curriculum. Evaluation Pattern is better to be discussed once you step in the MBA course of the college. 2) Improved discipline by the college authority, but some rules are too stringent (My personal opinion invest those discipline in academics aspect that will help to boom the college) Cons: 1) The batch size is scheduled to increase to 1300 students this year (for the batch of 2018–2020), no matter how much the college and its alumni will try to justify, the college administration wants to make it a “MINI INDIA” where all the culture is blended together and this becomes a huge problem during placements. ICFAI Hyderabad gives you plethora of opportunities for companies (i.e TRUE) but people who are having work ex are not turned up with the satisfactory job profile what they wish to look for and even fresher student’s too. This year (2017–2019 batch) at the very moment while I am writing this, almost 400+ students still remain unplaced (January, 2019). Placement process is still going on (started from the month of September). Few opts out from the placement process due to family business or opening a new venture. 2) The hostels are in poor conditions, few things are broken, the WIFI sucks and the college rarely spends any money in maintenance. The food quality in mess is satisfactory enough given the fact that Sodexo manages the food service here. Though these little things might not bother to most of you, but if you are paying 16 lakhs for a college, you ought to look at these factors. 3) Coming to academics, the overall quality of teaching has taken a significant dip, most of the faculties are low on experience and the teaching is of mediocre quality, perhaps you would be able to absorb the subject as much as possible. This doesn’t mean ICFAI Hyderabad doesn’t have good faculties, in fact there are some amazing faculties and when you have 13 sections in Semester 1, the chances of you getting a good faculty are very low. (Reason of huge intake again comes in to picture) 4) The placements have improved significantly as compare to last year, though there are still 400+ students who are yet to be placed. From marketing perspective the profiles available mostly are sales and business development ones. Few are Analyst and Digital marketing profile.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

There are no Harvard cases in use during the entire first year (from third semester you get access to Harvard cases) they are cases formulated by the faculties of ICFAI Hyderabad and 75 % of them are outdated. In order to score well at ICFAI hyderabad you need to be really good at Group Discussions. Then there are a lot of faculties who would just read those cases and award random valuations, which will make you question your stay at ICFAI every second of your life, As an aspiring manager you should be able to tackle both of these faculties.

Internships Opportunities

ICFAI Hyderabad gives you plethora of opportunities for Summer Internship Companies. My Summer Internship Experience was good and I enjoyed it. I even got stipend money for three months and even many of my batches got stipend money for their respective companies.

The batch size is scheduled to increase to 1300 students this year(for the batch of 2018–2020), no matter how much the college and its alumni will try to justify, the college administration wants to make it a “MINI INDIA” where all the culture is blended together and this becomes a huge problem during placements. This year(2017–2019 batch) at the very moment while I am writing this, almost 120 students still remain unplaced out of 1089 students appeared for the placement process(February, 2019).Placement process is still going on(started from the month of September). Few opts out from the placement process due to family business or opening a new venture

Fee Structure And Facilities

While choosing a MBA college, the first thing that comes to your mind is the fee structure, frankly speaking it is on the higher side, and one of the biggest drawback of ICFAI Hyderabad(Being the Main Campus of IFHE university)that would prevent you to take admission here(Sometimes it becomes your last resource to take admission through CAT/NMAT/IBSAT score). The current fee(2018–2020) for ICFAI Hyderabad is approx 17,00,000 INR including hostel, mess, and other services that the college provides which you have to pay in installments

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarship:-If a student is getting 10/10 pointer for all the semester, then that student is going to get 2,00,000 lakhs scholarship money. HDFC Credila and Avanse are the two NBFC's that are associated with college to provide education loan for two years.

Campus Life

3.5

ICFAI Hyderabad has 30 clubs and student chapters that make the campus life much more interesting, and you learn a lot through this clubs, pick one of your interest and get enrolled in the club and be a part of something that would help you grow in all aspects for example, if you are interested in Entrepreneurship you can get enroll in Maçon - The Entrepreneurship Cell, if interested in Marketing-Join Maverick or interested in operation Join Kaizen and Many more clubs/cells. LABS- Two big size computer labs well equipped SPORTS-Cricket ground, Football ground, Basketball Court, Table Tennis court, Badminton court, squash arena.

Hostel Facilities

The hostels are not in good conditions, few things are broken, the WIFI sucks and the college rarely spends any money in maintenance. The food quality in mess is satisfactory enough given the fact that Sodexo manages the food service here. Though these little things might not bother to most of you, but if you are paying 16 lakhs for a college, you ought to look at these factors.

Alumni/Alumna

IBS alumni network base is 40,000+. It is one of the strongest alumni network base in all over India among all the MBA Colleges. All this alumni base helps in good placement opportunity and IBS has an Alumni Relation cell which helps in binding all the alumni starting from 1995.

Exam Structure

Per Semester=3 Class participation(10+10+10=30 marks),3 Non class participation(10+10+10=30 marks). End SEM=100marks(Evaluated to 40). Grades are distributed as A,B,C,D,E. For the batch 2018-2020, the grades are evaluated on the basis of overall batch competition.

Admission

I got eligible for IBS Hyderabad through my NMAT score. Then I got the interview call letter from the college for the Group Discussion and Personal Interview round. I scored a decent percentile in my GD-PI plus adding to the academics marks.

Faculty

3.5

IBS Hyderabad has a good mix of faculties all together, there are some faculties in every course like Finance, Marketing, Operations and HR that would completely change your perspective towards your career, and help you grow in ways that can make you a better human being, but to cater to the needs of a 2500 students(2017–2020), it is not at all possible to get premium faculties, there are average and a small set of faculties that would actually make you regret your decision of taking admission to ICFAI Hyderabad, the funny part is the good faculties fly away in years, whereas the bad ones are still teaching there since ages and nothing is done by the management to replace them, but then its the case in almost every MBA institute, so all you can do is if you end up having 2 bad faculties, prepare them self, take help of seniors, who are quite helpful and learn the art of managing while you study, because when you work in the corporate you might come up with this kind of situation and this will help you in tackling that.

I think if someone who wants to know about rural activities their ground realities they should opt for this course in this college. Where you can learn so much about rural society and experience a lot. As the faculty is well qualified they will guide you so brilliantly. And this the best institute where you can learn field work and gain experience and come to know about rural people.
