Remarks

The college has everything what a girl needs in her student life except boys. But there is always a long queue of boys outside the college. The education, teachers, infrastructure, etc everything is fine. But girls do face the problems of washroom and I don't know why? There are 2-3 canteens and one is under construction. Overall it has a decent ambiance and atmosphere. The classrooms do look a bit dainty and rustic but that's because it is a very old college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course offered wide varieties if you talk about it. We had hell lot of seminars, international and national speakers. We had a foreign language (mandatory) for our course. there were industry visits including outstations. Yet the charges were like bomb but it was worth it. In the 2nd year, we had to make projects just to get the hang of it. In final year, we prepared the actual reports, After every alternate semesters, you are supposed to do an internship. In between all these, semester exams, internals and what not!! It was fun to do all these things.

Internships Opportunities

The college didn't provide internships directly. In my batch, we gave an aptitude for Goldman Sachs and few of the students who cleared the exam were given the opportunity to work as an intern there. In case you are not able to find internships, the placement cell will help you out.

Placement Experience

4

The plavement cell guarantees 100% placement. Yes, it is true because the students who applied in placement cell, all of them got placed. The average package is decent i.e. 3 to 5 lakhs pa. I've never heard anyone got more than that. The companies who recruit from are college are all well known and most of them are MNCs.

College Events

5

Our college offers many associations like Indian Dance Association, Western Dance Association, MUN, NCC, NSS, etc. Each association organise their set of events during freshers week and Cul-week. The most important event of our college is Cul-Ah, a national level fest aka Queen of Fests. Each year a new theme is given and students dress accordingly. Famous personalities come as chief guests and 100s of events are there. We don't take part but we volunteer in various sectors like art and craft, security, etc. Last day of the fest is super fun as there will an EDM night and the most awaited fashion show of our college (a must watch). There are other events every other day. The cultural life of MCC is always hot and happening.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is feasible but yes there are few course which costs like a bomb (a nuclear bomb actually!). But then the exposure which comes at that price level is not bad. The pricing is decent and not expensive.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college offers many scholarships like around 50 or 60. You'll also avail the scholarship if you've achieved good marks in 12th. But the only condition is that you've to be of state board or this PUC board (I don't know the board name). I, being a CBSE student struggled a lot because in-spite of having good marks, I couldn't get any.

Campus Life

3.5

MCC is the hub of extracurricular activities. The associations are responsible for these activities. They do a good job and provide opportunity to each and every one. There are auditions to get into these associations. There are various sports and the most famous is the Basketball. Then we've NCC which manage to wake up all the hostelites at 5AM on saturday.

Hostel Facilities

4

I've never been to hostel of our college but few of my hostelite friends say the food is good and it fun to stay in hostel. There are strict rules on curfew but that's for the "safety"purpose. The rooms are quite spacious.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is not so strong in our college. The senior students do pay a visit but nothing noticeable. I haven't seen any alumni meet or reunion when I was in the college. But yes, the seniors have left quite a legacy in the college.

Exam Structure

There are 2 exams each semester. Internals which is of 30 marks. This includes your internal exam of 30 marks which gets divided by 2. The remaining 15 marks are evaluated based on your projects, assignments and "attendance". Yes, we get marks for attendance as well depending on the percentage of your attendance. eg. 5 marks will be awarded if you have 95% and above in each subjects. The second one is externals, purely based on the answers you write in your test papers.

Admission

First, I filled the application online as I was waiting for my 12th results. As soon as I got the results (was extremely happy about it), I rushed to the college the next day as the admissions were almost closed and most of the seats were occupied. I inquired from one of the teachers about the graduate courses. They asked me to take B.Com Ind Int as regular was closed. I wasn't sure initially but later on I realized it is one of the best course of the college. After deciding the course, I did few paperwork, met the Sister Principal and was good to go.Next day, I paid the fee (1st installment) and then I was a Carmelite!

Faculty

4

The faculty is extremely helpful. I've never seen such cool and knowledgeable teachers at the same time. They treat you like daughters and sisters. Most of the time, we stayed after college to clarify the doubts. HOD is super cool and the principal is awesome!

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 5th semester. Our college has a dedicated placement department that really guides and supports us through the whole process. Big companies like Deloitte and KPMG visit the campus every year, and since I’m doing B.Com + ACCA, there are plenty of great opportunities in finance and accounting. Last year, around 8 students from the B.Com batch got placed in finance roles. The average package was about ?6 LPA. The best part is that placements keep getting better every year, and the college has maintained a 100% placement record. They’ve even tied up with foreign companies, which opens up more global opportunities for us. After completing my degree, I plan to build a strong career in finance—hopefully starting with a reputed company like Deloitte or KPMG—and later explore opportunities abroad.
