Remarks

This college has been a life altering experience for me. MCC has the potential to make or break you, it all depends on your focus and where you want to Excel and what you want to be known for. This college has the potential to provide the best of the best people you meet and the areas you want to establish yourself in.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

English literature is one of the most coveted courses in this college. While the syllabus may seem a little outdated (the teachers agree), the sixth semester makes up for that that. With courses that cover the entire age of literature in a three year duration, this is the best choice if English literature is your cup of tea.

Internships Opportunities

The college does not exactly have an internship period like Loyola but they do prepare their students to face the real world fully equipped. Although ,throughout the last semester there is a lot of exposure to all the various fields that can be pursued with this degree.

Placement Experience

4

The placements and job opportunities are plenty. As long as a student does not have any standing arrears they would most probably get a job. Most students prefer to study further but if the want to start working the college provides plenty options for that too.

College Events

5

The four halls host an event each with premiere names from around the country. The college fest or Deepwoods is known among the previous three generations of students and is very prestigious. Every department hosts an event every year that is privy to all the other departments and then other colleges on the second day.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The day stream basically charges very nominal fees. Apart from the first year it is always less than 10,000 for the remaining couple years. The first year alone would be around 24,000 with everything included.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

The underprivileged students can avail scholarships provided they write an examination and they submit evidence of their financial stature. The examination is only to test their potential and to make them earn it as there may be other well deserving students.

Campus Life

5

The labs are always updated with all the latest advancements. This college is known for its sports program and provides athletes with all their needs. This college has one of the biggest library that can be utilized by students whenever they require.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostels or 'halls' are a very prestigious part of the college. Their culture dates back to the existence of the college even which has been around since the late 1800'. They are very tough to get into but it is a lifestyle like none other.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni is something the college is very proud of. It has a plethora of successful students from the likes of Dr. RadhaKrishnan to Indira Nooyi. They all have come back to the college to give back once they established their own name out in the world.

Exam Structure

There are a total of three internal examinations. The average of the best two will be considered. A minimum of twenty marks is required to pass these. The end semester examination is a test on everything learnt in whole semester and a minimum of thirty is required in all subjects to pass these.

Admission

You get in purely based on merit. Depending on your score in your 12th examination you get selected. The college releases three lists and your name will appear on it if you have the required score. Very rarely students may get called upon after classes have started but it's recommended to not wait around for that.

Faculty

4

The Head of the English department is probably the nicest person you could ever meet on this planet. The other teachers too are very approachable and they have a good grasp of the subjects they teach. They are very well versed in their field and most of them have PHDs to account for just that.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose English literature, which actually made me learn the reality of society and people. This would help you to face problems as we completely learn about human emotions and the problems that have been in society for a long period. The frequency and timings of exams are consistent and it depends upon the knowledge we have about the subject.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was always interested in choosing BA English as my major in college. I personally like English subject, since I was in school. I wanted to learn more about English. As I thought, English was not just a subject that is unimportant. English is as much important as other major subjects like science, maths, etc. We had four internal exams and two semesters for a year. The curriculum was limited and covered almost all the important parts of the subject.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this particular course because of my interest in that subject. Organising more case studies, visits, conducting frequent test paper can help in my point of view. Regular tests, qui,es, assignments with meaningful assessment can help in balancing, tracking progress and also understanding the level of each student. That can also cause each and everyone student to understand where they need improvement and certain tests can also be conducted in a fun way which can make other students anticipate it more.
