Likes

Teaching quality is good and also infrastructure is also good
Social interactions can be highly achievable throughout the course
There's proper time left for social activities and for self improvement

Dislikes

Hostel facilities should be given for students
Infrastructure of department of engineering should be upgraded

Course Curriculum Overview

4 year curriculum is divided into 8 semesters. And after every 5-6 months exams occur. And due to more number of subjects it prepares you for real world problems such as assignments, exams, seminars etc

Class Size: 70Course Fees: INR 120000 per year

Placement Experience

Students becomes eligible for placement in final year and for cse/it there are numerous companies such as infosys, tech Mahindra etc and for civil there are reliance, various construction firms are coming for campus interviews, some students also opt for higher studies

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees structure of odd semester is about Rs 48700 and for even semester it's about Rs 59700. And it also exempts the fee for some cases such as single girl child or ward of hpu employee etc, And we can also avail scholarship through nsp

Campus Life

Yearly cultural and techno fest is happening with name of 'utkarsh' , in which various cultural activities such as nati , bhangra , dj nights etc are included . For technical fest there are various competition in games such as csgo , valorant , bgmi , freefire, fifa , chess etc

Admission

I applied for various exams such as jee main , hpu uit entrance exam , jee main ( architect) . And I want to do civil engineering from a recognised institute. And I got decent marks in entrance exam held by hpu.

Faculty

Faculty of institute is very good in terms of student - faculty relationship and also in terms of teaching, they are good. And there's entrance exam named as HPU UIT entrance exam. Difficulty level of exam is moderate

Night Life

There's 24/7 library in campus which is highly recommended for candidates which are self studying for cracking various exams . Also as we know shimla is beautiful city so it gives various opportunities for students

Chandigarh-based companies or the startups, and training institutes come here. Companies like Meander Software, Bebo Technologies, Novem Control, BookingKoala - Sales Hungary, etc. companies come. Average package is 3.8 LPA, and 50% students are getting placed. My plans after getting the degree is working in an IT company.

Placement Experience:

At NIT Hamirpur, students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester onwards, and the placement scenario has been quite encouraging in recent years. A wide range of companies such as Infosys, Wipro, L\&T, Capgemini, Tata Projects, and several core as well as IT firms visit the campus every year. The highest placement touched an impressive 2.05 crore offered to a mechanical engineering student, while the overall average package stands at around 10.5 LPA, which is a strong figure compared to many other NITs. The placement percentage remains high, with a majority of students securing offers, especially in branches like CSE, IT, and ECE, though core branches like civil and mechanical also receive good opportunities. The profiles offered include roles in software development, consulting, design, project engineering, and research. After completing my degree, I plan to take advantage of these placement opportunities to gain solid industry experience and later decide whether to pursue higher studies or competitive exams for broader career growth.
