Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum is up to date and let's us learn the most modern techniques of modern medicine. Cource progresses in a systematic way and provides a better exposure. College follows the latest medical curriculum which focuses more on the clinical exposure. So we had to attend our clinical postings from second year itself which is quite a thrilling experience to experience the knowledge we acquired apply on real patients.

Internships Opportunities

4

Internship is the interim part of any medical course. After 4.5 years of study, you will have to do the internship of 12 months, which will expand across 12 department, 1 department per month. In our college, you have to do internship in the hospital of college.

Fees and Financial Aid

MBBS is a course of 5.5 years duration. Fees for the first year is 40000 for OBC candidates and 50000 for Gen candidate. From second year onwards annual fees is 36000 and 40000 for OBC and Gen, respectively. This includes all the expenses including Tution fees, registration fees, Library fees, etc. There are no hidden fees. For hostel, in the first year, they provide 3 seater AC/Blower equipped hostels, for which charges are 24000/person/year. From second year onwards you are shifted to single seater rooms (non AC) with hostel fees of 5000/year. Regarding scholarship, college doesn't provide any such facilities. One can avail the State government scholarship for sure, the process is carried out via college itself.

Campus Life

4

College provides with a good and healthy campus life. Infrastructure provided is more than excellent, fully centralised AC college and hospital along with big Central library. College hostel 2 very important events each year, one is FRESHERS PARTY for welcome the new batch ( named as UDBHAV) and second one being the most wonderful one the ANNUAL COLLEGE FEST ( ESPERANZA). Our batch also took the initiative to reach out to the world and tell about us, so we started a MEDIA CLUB of our college, after recognising the talent of our batch in media core works, and it's a success so far. You can also get informations about the college from our instagram page- @mediaclub.lohians Freshers usually takes place within 3 months of arrival of new batch whereas fest occurs in month of June- September, june and july being allotted for the sports event - AVENSIS and September for cultural events - KALANJALI.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostels facilities are very good. Right now we're accommodated in Faculty apartments, which are 3 BHK flats, shared by 6 peoples. Rooms are spacious with attached washroom and geysers. We're also provided with kitchen and balconies. Each individual is provided with a bed, chair, table, matress and almira. Food quality and mess is the field where college needs to do some work.

Admission

So admission to this college (and in general any other medical college and course) is through NEET. After clearing the exam you are allotted an ALL INDIA RANK, which provides you eligibility to sit in counseling and select a college. Mine AIR was 4011 which is a very decent one to get admission to top medical College of countries. Since I didn't wanted to leave the state so I applied for counseling of the state. KGMC is the top medical college of the state. Earlier GSVM kanpur used to be the second choice for candidates, but from when this college came into existence (in 2017) it soon left GSVM behind and became the second priority of candidates. This small time growth of college fascinated me to keep this college asy second choice. Also the academics of this college is very popular for good reasons. I couldn't clear the cutoff of KGMC by 1 marks and was alloted Dr RMLIMS.

Faculty

4

Faculties are well experienced and enriched with greater knowledge. They are always ready to help you with any kind of help you need. Also I haven't seen any kind of discrimination with students by faculty. Naming some of the best faculties, Pharma faculty, biochemistry faculty, pathology and microbiology are some of the best faculties. There are 3 exams in single academic year, One terminal, one pre professionals and one professionals. In between PCTs are arranged by respective faculties. Internals are calculated based on terminal, pre Proffs and PCTs which defines eligibility for sitting in professionals. Eligibility criteria is 50% which is very difficult to achieve. Question level in exams are also moderate to difficult. Also after theories, VIVA are conducted which again requires 50% marks, which is overall very difficult to achieve.

Night Life

5

College and hostels are located in the heart of the city which provides the exposure of excellent night life. Hostels are on Gomti Nagar extension, in front of Ekana international cricket stadium, situated at walking distance. Phoneix palassio mall is also walking distance and LULU Mall is 5-6 km from hostel. For clubbing and party, one can go to Summit building, which is again 5-6 km from hostel and cabs are available 24/7. College provides PMR gym with timing 4-5 for girls and 5-8 for boys. College has a central cafeteria and also a cafeteria in SC Rai boys hostel. Library are open from 9 am to 10 pm. Bus is available at 10 pm for those who wants to sit back till 10 pm for studies in library. There are no hostel timings for boys. Girls have to be inside hostel before 9:30 pm. Locality is absolutely safe as it shares it's boundary with UP POLICE HEADQUARTERS, so maybe the safest campus till date.

Course Curriculum Overview:

It was my dream destination career wise to choose MBBS . MBBS connects you to life and death the two most important aspects of being a human on this planet . Having a power to cure someone and make people smile and live again with health is something else. As in our India the population to doctor ratio is very less hence it's important for the young generation to understand and evaluate the decision of serving the country this way. MBBS is dream for many but reality for very few students all over the country. But the people reaching here face toxic culture also , as prestigious it is as disturbing sometimes it becomes , people over here do not understand the mental health of others So this aspect should be taken in to care and medicos should be handled with care by the society, government and also the seniors . The exams are big rat race , but it's really satisfying as a reader as you get to study and read a lot about medicine . So choose MBBS but not toxicity make your mind that you ll make it beautiful for yourself and also for your batchmates and juniors as well .
