Course Curriculum Overview

3

I choose ECE because I can land upon both software and hardware jobs. I ended up getting software job. Curriculum was good but few topics were vast. It would be better if this department includes good handson activities apart from labs as most of the time we're submitting written sheets instead of doing hands-on. Frequency of exams were decent compared to other colleges. Where due to COVID other colleges student were appearing 3 semester exams in an year, we were lucky enough to give 2 semester exams in an year.

Placement Experience

3

Placements were good till our batch. We're offered placements from 7th semester onwards. More than 100 companies must have visited to us. Lower package I don't remember maybe 2.5-3 lpa. Higher was 12 lpa. 75% of students got placed. I'm currently working as a software Developer

Fees and Financial Aid

Year wise I paid 117000 for 4 years Apart from h That I paid 25000 for training fees per year Hostel fees was 59000, 63000, 67000, 72000 per year respectively. Registration fees per semester was 1800 Scholarships were given to international students only. They're supposed to give the hostel feels.

Campus Life

3

Every year we've cultural fests for 2 days. Then apart from that pretty diwali celebration and pre cultural event celebrations as well. Tech fests and Smart india hackathons were also organised. There were many student run groups like acting, dancing, photography clubs

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel facility were good but meal quality inside hostel was not that good. Registration process were similar during registration of course fees. Pgs were 15 mins from campus. Residential were safe and clean.

Admission

I've applied few other colleges near to my university. I didn't go to other as their placements were not that good. I applied to the other architecture college which I got selected but unfortunately I didn't go there. Instead I've opted engineering. We didn't give a particular entrance exam in our college during admission although now they've bought entrance exams as well. Now they're selecting students based on their jee/ojee percentile or entrace exams.

Faculty

3

Faculties must be around 60-75 overall. Most of them were good with us. Most of the exams were good but few of them were tough as the subject was very vast. We had to give unit tests, midterms, finals apart from that quizzes and projects for independent subjects as well.

Night Life

2

We had girls gym inside girls hostel. Boys gym near library. Cafeteria and Library nearby. Hostel timings are 6-6:30 pm. Security was tight. We were offered badminton court for girls. Basketball court for boys. And cricket ground in the campus.

Placement Experience:

the placement is also not that much great. they are very few companies TCS and Infosys are the mass recuriter here . The core companies are close to null . So you have to go to only to the IT companies that to at a very low package . My students work for as low as 2.5 lac per annum . This year almost everybody was between 3lac to 10lac bracket . The highest on campus package are about 25 lac . Not more than that most of time. and the average package is almost about 3-4 lac per annum . The percentage of the students placed is also really bad . Most of the students have to hurdle by himself.

Highest 8lakhs annual packages and average was like 3.5lakh to 4.5 lakh. Approximately 70 to 80 percentage of students are getting placements every year. After getting the degree i want to do a job in electrical companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because at first I was interested to automobile engineering but I didn't got it from other college so I preffered this mechanical engineering. It is a very though course as it seems. And there was 1:7 for faculty and student ratio. Faculties were highly qualified and some did PhD and m. Tech and other are fresher. The teaching skill differ person to person. The thermodynamics faculty was very excellent. In every year there was 2 semester and it is a little difficult. And before semester there was internal and viva.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Padmanava College of engineering is coming under Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT , odisha). As there is always a myth about private colleges that they help in cheating but from my experience padmanava College is strictly against cheating and rather it supports quality of education. If you are a hard working student you will pass the exam very easily.
