A first year student's view

I joined here because this is the only engineering college where students who have passed 12th boards with pcb can get admissions. So this was my only option. They haven't told us anything or prepared us for anything yet.

In 2nd year you will be briefed about all this. And as i just completed my first year so i dont have much idea regarding this but you are free to take internship or paid internship off campus. But in first year this is not really necessary.

From 6th semester you are eligible for campus placements. Companies that visited our college are cognizant, amazon, google, tcs, accenture etc. Highest offer was made of 65 lakhs and a good number of students get placed. My plan is to get placed in a company with good salary once i get my degree

We have to pay 2.25 lakhs yearly for btech cse. If you want to go for electronics you pay 90 thousand. Likewise different course have different amount and the prices increases every year. In this college you can avail two internships at most. If your parents income is below 8 lakh only then you can get scholarship. Minimum scholarship amount is 20000. There is no fee for labs and regular exams. If you have back then you have to pay according to the credit of subject.

Tech fest, and 2 day dj night held around February-march. One can get a wide range of books and journal in library. The classroom is average. We have active sports club and tournament are arranged often. Students run social groups , clubs are there.

I almost spoke to all colleges including soa university but none of them give admission to pcb students. Which is why i chose this over others. You have to pass 12th with 60%(pcb,pcm,pcmb) and you have to either appear jee or ojee or c.v.raman's own entrance exam

We have huge number of faculty for different course. You can easily approach the faculty for consultation but they will throw a lot of tantrums except a few. I liked virender sehwag, M.Z. lazarus and trailokyanath singh they are very good teachers. There are a lot of faculty who doesnt give marks no matter how good you perform. Around 10 exams and every day you have to give lab exam. Theory papers are quite tough labs are medium. Maximum students dont clear the exam because faculty fail them so that the college can make money through back paper. Very pooor.

So our favourite hangout spot are the college gardens , foodcourt and restaurants nearby. We also have wow momo wow china wow chicken outlet inside the campus and gym is also available. The main gate closes at 6:30 pm. Hostel timing is morning 7 am to 6:30 pm. The locality is not safe. Because theres not much house nearby. Famous hangout place is cafeteria, campus garden and the loop (restaurant)
