Let's talk about IIT (ISM) Dhanbad

I chose mining course as it is very practical, The curriculum available here prepares us very well for real world applications. Here some professors are very aged, so we are not able to get their words,so it can be improved . Mid sem is held after two month of the starting of semester and end sem is after two and half month after mid sem.

After 7th semester, students become eligible for the placement. Placement is average here . Highest package is approx 56 lakhs on campus and 1 cr offcampus. Various big tech companies like Google, microsoft, phonepe,flipkart,etc visit here and core companies also visit here like ONGC, CIL.etc.

Since I belong to EWS category, I recieved tution fee waiver from college so my tution fee become Rs. 00. During josaa counselling, I paid 35000. In my first semester I paid Rs. 19800 which include my hostel fees , and extra all development fees , lab fees. My hostel fees is rs. 18000. For my second semester , I paid Rs. 26,400 which include all my hostel fees and other fees.My general category batchmates have to pay 100000 rs. in each semester.MCM scholarship is also available here in which rs. 6000 is provided to students who have applied for it per semester.

There are various fests organised here like concetto in the month of October ,it is a technical fest. And there is also another mining fest which is Khanan ,it is also organised in October . And a cultural fest Srijan held in the last month of January. Every book is available in the library. Sports ground are not so much large here.

My rank in jee advanced is approximately 14k and in my mind rank is 10k. I was getting top circuital branch in top 10 nits. But still I chose mining engineering at IIT Dhanbad due to its tag and strong alumini network. For getting into my college, students have to clear jee advanced examination with good rank. For this we have to study without any distraction in our 11 th and 12th.

Here faculties are very interactive with the students . Whenever they are in their office, we can go to their chamber and ask our academic doubt. Some professors also guide for goal of the carrier. I like Professor Kashinath Pal sir, he is very supportive to us , he interacts with us in academic as well as non academic issue and always ready to solve any issue. He focus on each student of the class and motivate everyone for the study. In each semester, there are mid sem,end sem along with it also ther are two quizzes are conducted for the student . Approx 30 students fail in each semester out of 1000 students . But the course is relevant.

Gym is also available for the students. Library are very infrastructured here and it is Asia's 2nd most largest library where we study . Hostel timing is around 9 pm for first year students. There is an oval garden where there are many flowers and grasses are well designed there.
