A true and genuine review of IIFT Kakinada

The course consists of different subjects in every semester. Honestly, i didn't choose this college for it's curriculum but its pretty nice. Teachers gives real life cases and examples which helps to understand the situation of real world too. Area that need to be improved is the working of scheduled revision classes. There are revisin classes in the shedule but its always the holidays. All the exams are on consecutive days regardless of their difficulty level. This makes exams more challenging.

Campus life is good with people from everywhere around the contry, the exposure is good. There is no annual or technical fest as i mentioned it there is no campus. The library is smaller than a room. Our classrooms are pretty good- AC, smart board, smart screen, speakers and good desks. We have our sports fest called aikyam which includes 4 sports in four days. There are many clubs and committees . Almost all the student are there in any one of them.

Hostel is nice with boys and girls two different hostels. Hostel is well cctv equiped. Our rooms have good lights , AC , geyser shower. Meal quality is not that good. There is a fix weekly mess menu with some days having good meal while the other days its disgusting. I forgot to mention that it's a residential program. The area near boys hostel is all sewer..yes we are surrounded by sewers , but we have malls, bakery and shops near by. Girls hostel is in a society that i mentioned earlier.

I applied for different colleges which conduct IPMAT and JIPMAT like IIM Indore, IIM Rohtak, IIM Ranchi, IIM Bodh Gaya, IIM Jammu Tapmi but i was able to make only iift and tapmi manipal. Here's the reason- although I did good in all the written examinations my interview rounds were messed up. As i was a dropper i thought they would ask things majorly from 12th class and curent affairs but they ended up asking 11th class questions. But IIFT Kakinada is also good. Since its affiliated from IIFT Delhi , our seniors will get placements from Delhi only. Admission process- register for IPMAT examination conducted by IIM Indore. Then register for iift also and link the form with ipmat indore. So, iift takes marks from ipmat Indore only for evaluation . Total seats are 60 and there is a 2 peecent quota for female candidates too.

As i mentioned earlier, the faculty is good. We did our first semester with 8 teachers. Student to teacher ratio is 6:1. Rashmi ma'am- she teaches economics and is put program director. Sardhi sir- teaches accounts and is the campus head Faculty i don't like is our yoga ma'am. She is a JNTU faculty and is so rude. There are minimum 2 quizes of each subject. And a mid sem and a end sem. Exams are usually easy but due the extra works like competions and committee works , it becomes quite challenging.

We are not allowed to go out of our hostels after 8:30 pm. We don't have any gym , cafeterias . Yes we have a table tennis table , carrom. Favourite place at nights is our rooms only where we enjoy as we want. Overall , we are deprived of a proper campusn life as we don't have our own campus.
