Likes
- Hostel rooms are big and have AC and attached bathrooms. Shared by 2 students.
- Good mess menu with chicken, paneer and eggs regularly.
- Very well equipped classrooms and good infrastructure for the college building.

- Hostels are distant from college. However, students are provided with bus transportation (managed by me).
- No visiting hours allowed at hostels, so it gets difficult to do group projects.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is very diverse and interesting. We have subjects ranging from yoga, economics and psychology to CMA, HRM, CSR, Power BI, python, Excel etc. The curriculum is very practical based, and focuses on real life application. The exams are held twice every semester and are moderate to high level of difficulty.

Campus Life
We are currently at a temporary campus inside JNTU Kakinada, and our permanent campus is under construction. Due to this, we don't have sports facilities and have to hire turfs and courts ourselves. We are told that it will be ready to move by late 2025. The library is decent and has a lot of useful books. We celebrate festivals and have a flagship sports event "AIKYAM" every semester. It consists of Football, Volleyball, Cricket and Badminton as of now and we plan on adding more sports. We have a lot of clubs and committees and chapters of international student organisations like GAEE, 180DC, ENACTUS, Girl Up etc which conduct regular events and projects. Our classrooms are very well equipped and the infrastructure is good enough.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are mandatory for all students. The hostel rooms are to be shared by 2 students each. The rooms are big with attached personal washrooms and air conditioners (you have to pay the monthly electricity bill only for ACs). Mess food is good enough with a vast menu mainly consisting of North and central Indian cuisine and a little South Indian too. We get chicken and paneer twice a week and eggs every day. Hostel and mess fee is 1,00,000 per semester and is somewhat justified (it can still be better since IIFT is a top tier institution). There are no visiting hours so girls'/ boys' are not allowed to visit the other hostels. This causes slight inconvenience to do group projects etc.
Admission
I applied to IIM Ranchi and IIM Indore alongside IIFT KAKINADA. I got shortlisted for interview at IIM Ranchi and later got waitlisted. I got rejected by IIM Indore. I chose IIFT KAKINADA because it is the second best college for pursuing IPM (Integrated Program in Management) after IIM Indore. The admission process for IIFTvincludes an entrance exam - IPMAT Indore, and Class 10 scores (as of 2024). There was no Personal Interview or Grouo Discussion.
Faculty
We have very qualified permanent faculty members, and many guest faculty members who are also quite good. There are two exams every semester - Mid sem and End sem - and the college follows Relative Grading pattern which is similar to normal distribution. The curriculum is stacked with very diverse and interesting topics which are also relevant.
Interview Experience
No group discussion or personal interview was required for admission at IIFT KAKINADA. The only criteria for admission was IPMAT INDORE test score and Class 10 grades. Gender diversity was applied too.
Night Life
We have gyms near both hostels and a lot of cafeterias and restuarants, a few public parks and a mall which usually close around 10:30 PM. The hostel in timing is 9PM, and the locality is fairly safe to roam at night (I would still recommend being in groups). You can get almost anything you need at SRMT Mall (food, cinema, clothes, electronics, groceries etc).
