What Students Say
Likes
- The faculty is amazing. They make PPT's for every single class. They often send this in WhatsApp groups through the class representatives or on the Amizone portal (Amity's personal portal). Some faculty also guide you personally & take care of needs.
- The campus is big. There are about 8-10 eateries. They follow great standards for hygiene and some of the food tastes amazing. They also sell things at a subsided rates and this the students can afford these. They also have a proper grocery store.
- The campus has lots of fests and stalls going on to promote students. They also provide facilities for students with startups in mind.
Dislikes
- Some teachers are totally nuisance. I don't even understand sometimes about why they even get paid for doing nothing.
- They pressure of assignments from the first day itself is very high.
- The college wants us to do internship every single semester but do not provide it themself. They also expect us to manage volunteer work and internship at the same time.
Course Curriculum Overview
MA in Organisational Psychology is limited in India, so I chose this course for that reason. The curriculum is well made. The students have to do internship with social work every semester. For first semester, it's 30 hours then 60 hours then 120 hours and then 160 hours. There are no minor exams, just class tests. There are major exams and viva for practical assignment well as NTCC.
Internships Opportunities
There are interships available but we have to find these internships ourself. So it is really hard throughout the period of the internship as well as throughout the whole 2 years of masters. There are 2 things. Social work and internship. Both have to arranged by the students themselves
Placement Experience
From 4th semester, the students become eligible for campus placement for internships. The lowest package can be upto thousands and the highest package can go up to lakhs. I plan to join Indian military after I complete my course.
Fees and Financial Aid
1st semester: 80000 2nd semester: 80000 3rd semester: 12000 4th semester: 12000 Besides these, if you opt for extra courses besides the fixed curriculum, there will be extra charged depending on the course.
Campus Life
The university arranges a new fest almost every single week. It happens in the H block, where the campus shopping complex is. The university has an AI lab, laboratory for every field applicable and smart boards in every class room. There is also AC provided in every class through an inbuilt system. There is a huge ground for all ground sports like football, hockey, etc. Amity also has a firing range. They have a gym too with most equipments and affordable costs.
Admission
Amity was the only college I applied to because of the presence of MA in Organisational Psychology. Amity needs all original documents, so it is to be ensured that you have all documents. You need to pass all 5 semester exams before you apply though. You also need to know basics of your course in order to pass the only interview call in order to join Amity.
Faculty
The faculty-student relationship between some teachers and some students are really good. Some faculty members are really easy to approach and they understand you well. The faculty that I like the most is Dr. Anjali. She is like a mother figure. She teaches well and she makes sure that she is taking care of us at the same time.
Night Life
There is a gym, quarterly it charges 4000, yearly 12000 which is very cheap. There are 8-10 cafeterias. There are 2 cafe coffee day branches. There are also outlets for subway, amul, dominoes, etc. There are hostels in almost every building. National students hospitals are seperate from international students though. There is an arcade cafe available right next to gym. There are all sorts of indoor games and video games.
