A glimpse of SNIST

As I'm from Electronics and Commmunication Engineering branch, the curriculum for our branch will be moderate-hard. In my first year there is only one core subject and remaining all are mathematical, physics, chemistry related subjects. From second year onwards the curriculum will majorly contains and focuses on core subjects along with few computer science, management subjects. Present curriculum cope up with real world applications and technologies to some extent. Subjects such as VLSI, embedded systems etc, will enhances knowledge in core concepts.

College allows us to internships provided by central government such as AICTE internships which are of onine based. In addition to that few companies conduct training sessions and internship offer to merit candidates.

Placements season will commenece from Third year seond semester (3-2). Company Specific Placement trainging will be provided for students from second year. Dont depend much on college for knowledge enhancement. Self Study yields in better results. Placements are currently going on in college and till date around 300- 400 students are placed in various companies namely darwin Box, Amadeus, Infosys, LTI Mindtree, Cognizant etc.

The college fee for each year and for every course will be 130000 if fee reimbursement is not considered. Full Fee Reimbursement Eligibility: Students who secured below 10k EAMCET rank having. Students who belongs to SC, ST, PHC or studied intermediate in government college are eligible irrespective of EAMCET rank. Partial Fee Reimbursement Eligibility: Students who belongs to General category, EBC, EWS holding income certificate are eligible for partial reimbursement of 35000 and need to pay 95000 as college fee for each year. No Fee Reimbursement: Need to pay 130000 every year for four years. Students whose parent(s) working in government sector are not eligible for fee reimbursement scheme. Students who are not holding income certificate. Management Fee: Students who are under Management will need to pay amount according to the specializations/ branch they are choosing. Seat in Computer Science and specialization courses such as AI-ML, Data Science, Cyber Security has high amount compared to ECE, EEE , Civil, Mech. Additional Fee: An additional Fee of 8500 will be charged along with the actual college fee every year. while joining in the college as a fresher, a single time payment of 49,500 is charged (in 2021) which includes fee for Uniforms, Books, Library, Placement training, labs etc. Semester exam fee of 1750 (as of now) to write mids, end semester and lab exams will be charged for every semester. Scholarships: Other than fee reimbursement, if a student got 90% in Intermediate will be eligible for PM Scholarship. Students belonging to SC, ST and EBC will receive mess charges (scholarship) of around 6000.

Technical fests will be held in every year where tech enthusiasts from various colleges come and participate in technology related events, games etc. Technical fests such as Roboveda, Charge etc will be conducted every year. There are more than 10 clubs each having its own speciality. Clubs related to sports, technology, dance, NCC has a large number of student involvement. Various books are available in two libraries which are opened during college hours and are very spacious. Classrooms are well-equiped with tables, chairs, HD projector, ventilation etc.

I got 11830 rank in TS EAMCET which is quite a good rank to get a seat in top engineering colleges in Telangana. During counseling I opted colleges such as CBIT, VNR VJIET, Vasavi, Vardhaman, GRRR, Sreenidhi, MGIT etc. and selected CSE, ECE and IT as branches. In two counsellings I was allocated with SNIST in ECE moreover I haven't tried in third phase counseling. Cutoff: Scoring above 65 or 70 marks will definitely helps in achieving below 10k rank, which results in full fee reimbursement.

Faculty are well experinced and has great knowledge in their respective teaching fileds and few of the faculty are holding Phd's and always approachable. I like Nikhila Ma'am who taught Digital Logic Design in my second year. Exams: In every semester there will be 6-8 subjects varies with branches. There will two mid exams and semester exam along with Lab Internals and Externals. Mid exam is for 23 marks and 7 marks are awarded for assignments, attendance, notes etc resullting in 30 marks and semester exam in for 70 marks. A grand total of 100 marks for each subject. Similar for labs exams. Curriculum: Every semester will be for 4-5 months with regular classes, labs.

No gym provision as of now. Several refreshments are available in Canteen and Cafetaria. Two libraries with huge volumes of books. College hostel timings are similar to college timings, if students wish to go outside they need to commmuniacte to their parents and hostel incharge. Several tourists places, monuments, malls, playstions, temples present in every corner of Hyderabad.
