Course Curriculum Overview

5

Dissertation is compulsory in the 4th semester which offers great advantage to the students opting both for research and also campus interviews. The subjects, courses offered by SoE are more in relevance with NTA UGC-NET JRF and also Indian Economic Service. Department also conducts various certificate courses and wants it's students to be acquainted with software, research techniques such as Strata. Course structure can be more intense as I could find more leisure time in my masters

Internships Opportunities

5

Companies offers various internships along with the stipend. Role would be a Research Intern, Research Assistant or Project Assistant Monthly stipend depends on the company - ?5000-?15000 Being a Central University, there's a scope for doing internship in various prestigious government agencies like RBI, NABARD, Central Statistical Institutes. Projects will be lead by Professors in the respective departments assisted by scholars and students.

Placement Experience

5

Both University and School of Economics got the placement cells. School level placement cells works in coordination with University placement cell. Around 12-15 companies (Berkadia) and education institutions and banking agencies (Federal Bank) have come to recruit the students. Highest package - 15 lpa Lowest package - 3.5 lpa Like in our batch, 20 students got placed and it's only from the students who appeared for placements and not out of the total. As of Now, I am preparing for my PhD entrance.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have paid around ?15000 for two years i.e., for four semesters. Fee structure is obviously less for SC,ST, PWD students. UoH got the Institute of Eminence status and receives fund from UGC and so, the fee are most likely to remain stagnant. Mess, Hostel registration fee is around ?4000 (once in the course time) and average mess bill for the month will be ?2500. There's a University Health Insurance scheme and also connected hospital which costs ?2000 per year and covers nearly ?1 lakh hospital bill UoH has got its institute scholarship scheme which helps with an aid of ?1000 per month on disburse the sum once in a semester. Students from Telangana also receive additional scholarships from the State Government of Telangana. Students can also attain various UGC, Central Government merit scholarships.

Rooms are equipped with beds, cots, cupboard, study table and chair to each person. Wifi facility is also available. Food will be descent in nature provided with top quality. University messes are student run messes and the mess fee will be ?2500-?3000 in a month.

Admission

I have applied for Pondicherry University, JNU and UoH. That was the first time when CUET PG has been conducted by NTA. I am from Andhra Pradesh and preferred Hyderabad and University never made me to feel regret about the decision. I have got a confirmed seat from JNU and Pondicherry University. After NTA release the score cards, UoH opens the admission window and whoever wish to join UoH need to apply for the same. University then release the Merit list of the applicants. Applicants need to attend for physical counselling cum document verification in order to secure the seat. The seats which will be vacant if so by admission withdrawals are filled by the next applicants in the merit list who have come for physical counselling.

Faculty

5

There are around 20 Professors in School of Economics. All of them are specialized in various fields in the subject which made the department more dynamic. Faculty in UoH are very approachable and offers more scope for interactions in subject matters. They offer internships and various projects across India. One need to take 4 courses per semester. Out of 4, 1-2 will be compulsory. And also need to complete 2 foundation courses in interdisciplinary manner. Internals : End Semester :: 40:60 90 percent of students clear the exam.

Night Life

5

University of Hyderabad is made for its night life. The University Lakes and various naturally formed rock structures like Mushroom rock, the Helipad Area, Night canteen offers great time to the students. Like most of the students sleep post 2AM in the night. University is safe for the students. Bus facility inside the campus will be available till 1AM. Both campus and hostels are open 24/7 for the borders.
