Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum is great. Practical classes are held each day for interaction with the real world . Exams are held in a periodic gap of 2 months and enough time is given for preparation Teaching methods can be improved by interacting with students more rather than just giving data on the blackboard.

Internships Opportunities

5

Internships are offered by college For 2-3 months internships take place with monthly stipend of 9000. Companies like tech mahindra, ultratech, cognizant and accenture offer various internship opportunities

Placement Experience

5

As a pvt university the placement is pretty decent. Students crack many job offers and the highest package in 2024 was 46Lakh. 100% students get placed. A total of 967 offers were made this year and nearly 40+ companies have visited. Example like accenture, cognizant, tech mahindra, tcs, TATA, flipkart etc. Average package was 5.4 lakh. From 7th semester students become elegibile for placements .

Fees and Financial Aid

Per semester fees is 1,12,500 for CSE with specialization and for other btech courses it is 97,500 per semester. I will be paying 2,25,000 per year as i am a CSE student. For the complete course the tution fees is 9,00,000.

Campus Life

5

Yes i was pretty much involved. Tech fest and cultural fests are organised each year During diwali a special function is also held Exhibitions are also held Clubs like cricket Club, gaming club, chess club, painting club, music club are present here. A vast cricket ground is present and is well maintained.

Admission

I chose this college as my brother was also studying here. Definitely i applied for other colleges too but i couldn't be able to make it there. The reason is my JEE percentile didnt meet the requirements. The admission process in my college is simple. Just give CGET exam which is a test that the college takes, score good and you can make it here.

Faculty

4

Faculty differs depending on the subjects they teach. Some are helpful, some are not. Laxmidhar Senapati of Electrical branch is very helpful towarda students and always help the students. Each semester has 2 exams i.e. mid sem and end sem Mid sem is doable But end sem is a bit tough but if you study properly it will be a piece of pie.

Interview Experience

5

Test was for 3 hours. It was an online test. With 150 MCQ questions 50 questions each from Physics, Chemistry and Maths I just simply read 11th and 12th NCERT for this test Other criteria for admission is through JEE

Night Life

5

Till 10PM students are allowed outside campus. After that the main gate closes. Many food joints are present inside campus that offers great food variaties to students. Also opened during night for hostilities Inside the campus the fountain area is a great hangout place. Gym is fully equipped with Instruments Library is also full of books Outside the college is a park that offers great surrounding and a temple for worshipping

Siksha 'O' Anusandhan University - [SOA], Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Reviewed on Jan 9, 2026(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

1. Relevance & Comprehensiveness (Rating: 7/10) The course curriculum at SOA is updated frequently compared to state government colleges. Why I chose this: I was attracted to the fact that the syllabus includes modern electives like Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, and Data Analytics starting from the 3rd year itself, rather than waiting for the final semester. Real-world Prep: The curriculum is designed largely to crack placement interviews. There is a heavy focus on Aptitude and Core Coding subjects (DS/Algo) which helps in getting a job. However, for deep research or R&D roles, the theoretical depth is sometimes lacking. 2. Areas for Improvement Teaching Methods: A major issue is the reliance on PowerPoint Presentations (PPTs). Many faculty members just read off the slides. I would prefer more "Whiteboard Teaching" for mathematical and logic-based subjects. Lab Records: We spend hours handwriting practical records/files which are just copied from the manual. This is a waste of time. This time should be used for live coding projects or hackathons. Outdated Subjects: First-year students (even in CS/IT) are forced to learn heavy mechanical/civil concepts. While basics are good, the depth of these non-core subjects should be reduced. 3. Exam System & Difficulty Frequency: It is quite hectic. We have 2 semesters a year. Each semester has 2 Internal Assessments (Quizzes/Mid-sems) and 1 End-Semester Exam. Basically, you have an exam every 1.5 to 2 months. Difficulty: The exams are Easy to Moderate. It is not very difficult to pass. If you study the "Class Notes" and "Previous Year Questions" for 3-4 days before the exam, you can easily score an 8.0 SGPA. The checking is lenient for passing, but strict if you are aiming for a 9.5+ SGPA.

I actually have a very little idea about placements of our uni few seniors says there is not a single company visiting, while few were discussing the highest placement which was something like 20lpa or something,i think companies do visit our campus it may not be much but i have definetly seen one or two companies visiting. I plan to do MBA after my Btech so i am not that serious about whether i am getting placed or not.

Gandhi Engineering College (GEC Autonomous), Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Reviewed on Dec 22, 2025(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I mainly chose this course because the college is Autonomous, which allows them to update the syllabus faster than standard university colleges; seeing subjects like Python and Data Science in the early semesters really influenced my decision. The curriculum is decent for getting placed in service-based companies like TCS or Wipro since they focus heavily on the basics and aptitude, though for high-end product roles or research, you have to put in extra effort yourself. I definitely think they need to reduce the theory load and focus more on practical coding because sometimes it feels like we are just writing assignments instead of building things. Also, the junior faculty rely too much on reading from slides, which really needs to change to make classes more engaging. As for exams, it feels like we are always writing them since we have two internals and one end-semester exam per term. They are moderately difficult and the checking is strict, so you can't slack off, but the tight schedule can get quite exhausting.
