Course Curriculum Overview

5

I wanted to pursue Research as my career. The professors here are some of the best in the world. The teaching is International level. Courses are designed inspired by World's top univs. Lab facilities are amazing. Even the undergraduate lab has so many high cost equipments and institute is ready to spend as much needed to produce good output in students' studies.

Internships Opportunities

4

you can apply under any company or institute you wish to for scholarship till they provide value in your career, institute is open to it institute has student development council, which as well is run by students, who develop an internship compendium by researching.. so thag is there too

Placement Experience

3

4th and 5th semester students can get ready for placements. There are no such companies actively participating directly. Its a kind of informal communication that the institute makes to companies and vice versa. Placement cell is not much active here. But the reputation helps you get a good deal yourself when you reach out.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tution fee is waived off for SC/ST and for low income students on producing relevant documents. *Fees breakdown per semester is as follows : Tution fees : ?36700 User charges : ?9700 Hostel and Dining Facilities : ?6700 *Scholarships : INSPIRE on eligibility, other scholarships if you're able to claim them, institute scholarship for low income there is no merit based scholarship offered by the institute itself

Campus Life

4

Science fest, Tech fest, Cultural fest, Art fest, Festivals like Diwali, Holi, Mahuwa, Chath Pooja, Janmashtami, Ganesh Chaturthi, Navratri... and so on, everything is celebrated greatly. Classrooms are equipped with high quality speakers and screen and projector and professor teaches on their tablet and that is presented on the board. But there are these classrooms and also the the chalk and board ones, according to whatever suits the teaching style of professors. Almost all sports are available here like basketball, football, cricket, badminton, lawn tennis, table tennis, squash, kabaddi, kho-kho, volleyball etc.. other than this, there are so many clubs formed and managed by students like dance club, art club, music club, decoration club, astronomy club, chemistry club, ecology club, debate society etc..

Hostel Facilities

4

there is cupboard, cot, windows and a power socket in the room. meals are nice and edible, not trash and menu changes every month and consists of variety affordable living outside campus is mot allowed

Admission

I applied for IISc but couldn't get it. I cleared JEE Main and Advanced and was getting good engineering colleges as well but wanted to pursue basic sciences. I was getting good pvt colleges as well. Overall, my interests were aligned to research.

Faculty

5

Professors are open to everything. They help students in every kind of doubts. If they're not free, they assign their TAs to solve them and they're just there to make you fully enlightened but you gotta choose to approach them. the ratio is good in later year when you choose your specialisation. In first year its around 400 students because all disciplines are taught together. Exam pattern is Quiz 1, Midsem, Quiz 2, Endsem and there are two semesters in a year. You study everything in first year then choose three premajor subjects in second year and then choose major subject in third year. I'm willing to choose Physics but am still exploring and open to choose any other if I get inclined towards it. But I'm particularly fascinated by physics a lot.

Night Life

4

Great Gym There is CCD and ICH and a Nescafe and other than this a canteen named ideation hut and an amul kiosk. hostel entry timings are 5am to 1am and other than that you'll have to make entry in the register. campus timings are the same as well. Bhopal is a beautiful city and has everything you can think of except beaches lol.. mountains, lakes, markets, malls, karting, boating etc

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is very research driven, and it is very flexible too. Course is as per the New Education Policy and is relevant to modern industrial needs. However the Curriculum is all around Pure Sciences, like the B.Sc but just the college is much better than a normal BSc college. First two year is given to students to get along with subjects that they want to study in future, in the third year they choose their Majors. Quizzes are frequent and occurs biweekly, while Exams occurs every month and so.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum trains students in various research fields, including lab and theory. The course prepares a student to get either a industry position, or PhD position. The course curriculum can be improved by porividing more exposure to students who havent experienced, these fields. Exams are good, easy if youve understood the course content. These exams are based on a wide information of the topic, and are not limited to just one textbook.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Since I am just in my first year right now, the courses I have are fairly introductory. But since we have to study PCMB, Earth Science, Programming and a Humanities course just in the first year, it's fairly hard to manage. we have 2 quizzes, a mid sem exam and an end sem exam in each semester typically at the end of each consecutive month (4 month semester). The marking scheme, syllabus, paper pattern, time, difficulty etc are all subject to change according to the professor.

Placement Experience:

As it's a research institution, more emphasis is given to academia and research instead of placements. We have an active placement cell, but still, it's lackluster compared to engineering colleges. The average package hovers around 10 lpa, and only a handful of people get placements. Most opt for Phd or an MBA.

We have a relatively better course structure, but what i think is IISER Pune has the most advanced sort of curriculum which gives them a better advantages and helps in their NIRF Ranking also. All the courses should be type of open elective.

Mostly from 8th semester onwards students become eligible for sitting in placements and getting preplacement offers in their applied companies. Companies like nomura Bank ,Barclays and Dr Reddy's lab have visited the campus in the past. Mostly all the students get placed because less number of student sitting for the placements. According to last year data around 31 lakhs per annum was the highest package and the average was around 10 lakhs per annum. My plan is to get into a foreign university for my higher studies.

Since IISER Bhopal is a research based institute, the placements here are not judged as in aspect of job placements after bachelor's degree, rather people here generally go for higher studies. But regardless the knowledge and experience gained here by people help them apply for any organisation off campus
