Likes

The infrastructure is quite impressive, the classes are very large and spacious.
Really safe campus for girls. The boy to girl ratio is quite equal but varies with every clas
The relaxing time table is the best thing. We have our classes from 1-5, 9-12, 11-3 like this which varies every day. It isn't so hectic like most of the colleges are 9-5

Course Curriculum Overview

The questions are quite easy. The CA'a plays an important role in semester. The curriculum is made keeping in mind the syllabus we'll be staying in abroad after 2 years as it's 2+2 batch. So the strength of class is also less.

Class Size: 36Course Fees: INR 120300 per year

Placement Experience

From 5th semester the students become eligible for the placements and the top student gets placed in the companies with the good packages where as the students with no CGPA gets job at their deserving packages in the highest package made was 72LPA for second largest was 56LPA. to set in the placements you have to go through the placement drive and give extra charges of 18000 to take training for the placements and interviews

Fees and Financial Aid

As I've adopted 2+2 programme, The university takes 50K in advance for the program. My total fees per sem is 120300. And I also got the 40% scholorship. The total fee the represent per sem is 2 Lakh.My batchmate fees was lesser than mine as he grabbed more Scholorship.

Campus Life

Infrastructure is very big and very impressive there are more than 300 student organisations that kind of organises the events in the university. There are many clubs to that students can join anytime. the events happen in the university quite regularly

Admission

I applied in chandigarh university but I got to know that chandigarh university and LPU are same and is actually same in terms of education. Residing close to LPU I took admission there as it's just a 15 min drive.

Faculty

The faculty is really helpful and always ready to help unless it's some frustated teacher. The exam pattern is like we have 3 CA's(continuous assessment) per sem. One mid term and End term. Attendance plays very important role as some of the subjects has 20 marks weightage of attendance. The grand total is always the total of best of 2 CA's+ MTE+ attendance+ETE

Night Life

There are many food courts.There is a mall. Everything is available there. The food court is open till night. The students can order food at night till 3AM. The hostel rules are that one cannot go outside the hostel after 11PM for boys and 8PM for girls.

supportive campus environment with the comfortable in the classess
faculty most faculty members are very much supportive and they guide the students in the right way only
events are there in the campus provided by the campus.

limited practical exposure is provided by the campus and also there should be more hand on international events

placements at my college are very very good, as everybody gets the chance to sit for the placements at the same level. we get the placement oportunities at the 6th semster also. in my brancg it is very good

A Vibrant Campus with good learning and great opportunities

Likes

good infrastructure , large libraries and practical labs
helpful and large opportunities in campus

Dislikes

class size can be large , it helps every child to interact
academic work is quite high , the schedule may feel hectic especially during examination

The curriculum is relevant and covers core cse subjects like programing DSA and DBMS . it provides good fundamental for placements and further studies , more practical projects and industry based teaching would improve it .

75 percent attendance policy for classes
Very high fees compared to other colleges

Placement Experience:

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Inside NITJ- Beyond the Brochure

There are 1 AC Lecture complex()LT with almost a seating capacity of 100-120 students, with smart screens and projector.
NITJ has well maintained 4 Girls hostel and 4-5 boys hostels with proper cleanliness and hostel staff.
They are 7 cafeterias in the Campus, including 3 Nescafe outlets,1 dominos and 3 regular canteens that serve food late night.

Dislikes

Wifi and connection issues in the hostels
Slow response to emails and late approval to applications
The ICE department faculty is quite strict. Tough grading system and administration.

Placement Experience:

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

I like the most about the college the placement criteria and the way built your confidence
Also the hostel is very good and provide food 4 times
The campus explorer is also very nice according to me

Faculty is not soo well had a lit bit inconvenience
Hostel mess food is not good at some time

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Good infrastructure, campus and faculty. Have to improve placements and industrial visits.

Likes

The campus is very green and clean. Infrastructure is good and one can feel fresh air here in campus
The faculty is excellent, almost all of the professors and assistant professors have a degree from renowned institutes. So they know their subject and field very well.
Hostels are good and affordable. Although the hostels itself are old, services are good and you get a nice room for the price/rent

Dislikes

The crowd isn't good. Always demotivated to do anything productive regarding studies. Some people are just here for time-pass
Very less site and outdoor visits. For practical experience, they should conduct industrial visits, but that happens rarely
Placements are really Dry and there is decline in company visits for placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
