Course Curriculum Overview

i always wanted to choose a career in mass media thats was i took BAMMC. actual office work and real life skills should be taught rather than all theory part in class which is only helpful in written exams. for photography class student should get outside exposure and handling camera on field tasks should be taught. same for cinematography class.

Campus Life

There were many fest in our college like tsunami, tug of war, hunnar our annual day held in august.many books, textbooks, magazsines, newspapers were available in the librabry. Projectors and ac are provided for the graduating class which is after 12th. Sports day was held in marine line near by ground. everyone were encouraged to take part in it. There was a rotract club in college and many took part in it. There was a certain amount for becoming a member. They used to host many events for different festivals like garba event, holi party, farewell party etc. Also used to work for social causes like cleanliness on beach. working with NGOs.

Admission

I applied to hinduja college, Xavier's, bhavans and leelavati. I got confirmed in leelavati but eventually decided not to get admission in there as it was far from my home and was not popular as lala lajpatrai college. I chose lala lajpatrai college because i knew that college from very long time. my most friens were there and I course which I wanted was also available in less money than others. I didn't got selected in other colleges due to my percentage. cutoff was high. I got admission in lala college in special list. There was no exams for entry. the admission process was online after S.Y.J.C. eligibilty is 12th pass.

Faculty

faculy were sometimes good and some time rude. sangeeta maam used to let students only explain the concept and run ppt. thats why students were tensed and afraid. i liked delaveen maam because she used to really explain the concept in deep and give examples and was really energetic and fun. have one on one interactions with students and appreciated everyone. i didn't liked sangeeta maam much beacuse she used to tell me to make her subjects syllabus ppt to teach kids. and use to give names of students to attend the college events even if we dint want to. she was not on time in class. always late and when student were late to her class she used to make them stand out or send them home, not allowing them in class. exams were good. in one subjects many got failed almost half of the class becaude no one use to attend that lecture as it was very early in morning.

Night Life

1

I never experienced nightlife in college as i was i only one living far way from college. I needed to travell long hours. my favorite spot to hangout with my friends were the canteen inside the college, small park outside the college or haji ali. There is a small space for gym which is occupied by the boys only. hardly any girls go there. The college lecture timimngs for bammc used to vary each day but the timing was from 7 a.m to 3/4 p.m. Some famous hangout places are college canteen, raju sandwich, frankie stall near entrance gate, haji ali, racecourse. Yes the locality is safe to roam around at night.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose sociology as my major as it is concerned with the society and moves to take down stereotypes, social issues, etc., something which i personally resonate with a lot. The curriculum prepares us for the real world in terms of living within the society. However, the discipline of sociology still does not offer secure jobs in the future. I suppose the curriculum could be improved through teachings using more examples which are unrelated to the topic but show a parallel side that can explain the concept. Due to NAAC, many of our assignments and tests were pushed all together in the previous semester. I hope thst is not the case with the current and the future semesters because it was very hectic and hard for us to complete the assignments but also study for the tests

Remarks:

They often tend to reschedule classes on the weekend due to attendance requirements. Moreover, there is a 85-75% attendance requirement for each course. If the attendance is till 85%, it is okay. Between 85-75% means there will be a final grade drop in that particular course, and below 75% is a repeat of the course.
