Likes
- The beauty of the place is the best thing.
- With beauty, the weather is very good. Although it is cold in winters but it is very sunny in the day which is the best part
Dislikes
- Blowers only operate for peak season and in some rooms people complain 3-4 times saying it's not working
- You have to walk a lottttttt. You enter -2 of academics after climbing 50 stairs and you have to again do that as classess are present from 0 floor to 4th floor
Course Curriculum Overview
I didn't like chemistry first of all and they have physics in 1st year. Second the beauty and serenity of the place. Then the strong alumnus of this college which include Ankit Aggarwal, founder of UnStop. They could keep a bit relaxed attendance and exam structure but they have a lot of exams...which you get used to, within a sem or 2.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible from 7th semester for campus placement but you can apply off-campus if you want. A lot of times off-campus placements are of better amount than on campus placements. Almost out of 400 students present in a year, 100 get very good on campus placements.(Almost above 10 lakhs) 100 get between 5-10 lakhs And rest ho for higher degrees although they get a placement of 4-5 lakhs
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure for B.TECH CSE remains same for 2 consecutive semesters then increases a bit for 3rd but remains same for 4th...this way the avg fee per year remains 3 lakhs and there is a bit of reservation for wards of people in defence and fee compensation for them. Other than initial category wise scholarship there is no provision for scholarships based on cgpa, which is there in many colleges. Caution fee is separate for hostel and academics ...for academic it is 25,000/- (non-refundable) and hostel 20,000/- (refundable).
Campus Life
Life at Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT) is a vibrant amalgamation of learning, growth, and community. Nestled in the scenic hills of Waknaghat, Himachal Pradesh, the campus offers an enriching experience that extends far beyond academics. The social life at JUIT thrives on its inclusivity and diversity, fostering friendships that transcend regional and cultural boundaries. From the moment students step onto the campus, they are welcomed into a close-knit community that quickly becomes a second family. Orientation programs and ice-breaking activities ensure that everyone feels at home, paving the way for meaningful connections. The lively hostel culture is central to the social dynamics at JUIT, with late-night conversations, shared meals, and impromptu celebrations creating an atmosphere of camaraderie. The campus comes alive during festivals, as students organize and participate in events like Navratri Dandiya Nights, Holi celebrations, and Christmas carnivals, reflecting the essence of a multicultural community. An integral part of the JUIT experience is its robust club culture, which caters to a wide range of interests and talents. The university boasts an impressive array of student-led clubs spanning technical, cultural, literary, and social domains, ensuring that there is something for everyone. For those with a penchant for technology, clubs like the ACM and the IEEE chapter offer opportunities to delve deeper into programming, robotics, and innovation. These clubs regularly organize workshops, coding competitions, and hackathons, allowing students to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world challenges. Cultural enthusiasts find their niche in clubs such as DNR, the dance club, and the drama club, where creativity takes center stage.
Hostel Facilities
There are clean rooms with balcony in some and windows in other. Facilities like cleanliness 2 times a week and blowers are provided. There are no ACs as they are not generally required. Hostel fee is 1lakh 60 thousand for a year but keep in mind that mess of juit is better than any other college you may go
Admission
I applied in thapar, jiit, juit and Manipal. I got admission in all of them but I chose juit. I didn't go to jiit because my parents thought that environment of juit would be better. Also they were a bit hesitant to me living in Delhi for my graduation as people are very young during graduation. Didn't choose manipal as juit was better in every aspect other than placements. Didn't choose thapar because of high fee structure but almost similar quality of education
Faculty
Faculty is a lot there for which they deserve some brownie points and teachers are approachable. It's not difficult to approach and teacher even for basic guidance. Even if you are struggling with any academic or personal issue, they are there to help. There are a total of three exams and two practicals ...also please consider that this college is not for fun. They focus q lot on academics. You always remain busy in some exam or practical or project. But don't miss the fests part. There are a lot of events and dj nights so you can enjoy along. There are some specific subjects in each year (1 or max 2) in which people fail generally and therefore it requires focus otherwise it's not difficult to get a good cgpa if you're are sincere student. You can manage friends trips and academics and fests and clubs, committees.
Night Life
There are 2 gyms in girls hostel and 2 for boys in the campus. They are closed only from 12 at night to 5 in morning. The hostel in timings for girls is 9:30 but you can go to library till 12 by writing your name in entry register at the entrance of girl's hostel.
